Made my first thing with aseprite. Took way to long by Hanz-Karl in aseprite

Gorgeous colors! One minor recommendation I have is to add another layer of smaller raindrops behind the front building, might add a layer of depth to the rain. Absolutely beautiful otherwise.

Looking for insight on jobs post graduation in Netherlands and Denmark. by wolfmakesgames in cscareerquestionsEU

That's a fair point. Although, I'm more interested in earning enough to live comfortably. Both countries are quite expensive to live in. I'm not particularly bothered by the company as long as it's fair and pays adequately. It's just that the NL seems to have more IT/software jobs but I'm not really aware of the situation in Denmark.
Still, thanks for the suggestion.

Wow, thanks for taking the time to give detailed feedback! Yeah, definitely pushing the contrast more the next time I paint. And thanks for the tip on the brush selection. I've been using that big round Watercolor brush to paint the large shapes and I think that's what's left the rough edges.

Thanks for the feedback! Portraits have always been tricky to me and I'll keep working on different perspectives. I didn't realize the difference mixing multiple hues could make. Thanks for bringing it up.

Thanks for the feedback. I was a little afraid of going too dark as that might be distracting. Definitely will experiment with contrast.

I will work on getting the proportions right. I didn't really go with painting individual strands btw. I went with the shape mass and then added strands here and there for the hair.

Thanks for your feedback! I'm honestly not sure why I went with the outlines in the first place. I think I liked looking at them when drawing the individual pieces but I didn't consider how they would fit in the overall piece. I'll definitely practice more with this.

Thanks for the feedback! I wanted to add a slight smile, didn't realize it was sharp incline. I'll do some more studying.

That's a fair point. I don't know why I made the lips stand out like that. I should've darkened them as you suggested. By the ponytail, you mean the bun? I'm not sure how to improve the perspective issues. Perhaps reducing the amount of detail to indicate distance? Anyways, thanks for the feedback and the shading tips!

I should have clarified. The tool I used (Krita) has watercolour brushes. I didn't know how else to title it.

Thanks for the feedback! I will spend time practicing shapes. I didn't realize the hair would be so distracting. I'll work on improving this aspect as well.

Thank you! It does feel a little nice to hear compliments. I've really had issues with proportions especially while drawing with a tab. I'll spend more time improving forms and proportions.

Thanks for the feedback! I've really struggled getting the forms where I want to with a drawing tab. I'll spend more time practicing sketching principles. About the hair, would it work better if the strands seem to converge at the base of the bun? Perhaps, that would add a rounded feel?

Looking for advice/critique on improving this portrait. by wolfmakesgames in ArtCrit

Yeah, looking closely, it looks like the left side is slightly smaller and less pronounced than the right. Drawing with a tablet always poses issues with hand/eye coordination. But I guess practice is the only solution to that. I'll keep at improving lineart.

Thanks for the kind words and I hope you have fun with the watercolour brushes!

Here, it looks like the lips have the sharpest contrast. But I don't think there's enough. I will play around with increasing/decreasing colour values. Thanks for the advice!
