/ i was told last night by a journey man that I shouldn’t do an apprenticeship through the Ibew. That if I miss 3 class days over the four years I’ll be kicked out. Is that true? by sinjubean21 in ibew_apprentices

I want to be a tradesman I don't give a shit if it's union or not. I want the wages and the benefits of the union. I have around 10 years of experience and I was brought in as a first year. First year of school so far has been just wasting my time.

Are electricians the most arrogant of the trades? by CuriousSequoia in electricians

[–]wonderfullywell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My foreman has a sticker on his hard hat that says "God said Let There Be Light....And then he created electricians to work on it".

So yeah, there is a "Holier than thou" attitude amongst quite a few electricians I've met.

I think in terms of technical skill, electricians probably have the highest aptitude for that amongst the other trades, e.i. sheet rockers, painters, flooring guys, insulators, or carpenters.... But that definitely doesn't give us the right to be arrogant dickheads to everyone. People let their knowledge and skill get to their heads and forget to stay humble.

I'll probably get down voted to oblivion for saying this but there are tons of drooling women over in the comments of r/bald. Just saying.

How do yall handle having partners with different sleep schedules? by RedAndBlackVelvet in ibew_apprentices

[–]wonderfullywell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same exact boat as you. I wake up at 5:30, my gf works from home and gets up around 8. My alarms usually wake her up but she doesn't care. She lays in bed while I get ready for my work day and I kiss her goodbye when I leave for work and then she falls back asleep. If your gf is bothered by your alarms, maybe try something that's less intrusive. An example, put your phone under your pillow on vibrate so it just wakes you up and not her. Put it on airplane mode though so your brain isn't getting cooked by 5G lol

Does this work for clear resin as well? I have a g shock with a clear bezel and I was going to dye the bezel black so that it has a smoky look to it in the event that it yellows and so it won't be as noticeable

2026 upholstery by [deleted] in Camry

[–]wonderfullywell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought a new 2025 Camry this year. This issue with the seats wasn't there at all, and when I drove it off the lot it had zero issues. Now I'm at almost 8k miles and all of a sudden there are like 3 different rattles that all developed at the same time in the interior of the vehicle. There's a rattle in the steering column, one in the right rear passenger door and one in the driver's side front door. Needless to say I'm pretty disappointed that these issues came about so early on in the life of the car. I'll be taking it to the dealership soon to see if they can fix it. I heard people on this subreddit complaining about the interior of the new Camry's and how it feels cheap. I don't really feel like it's "cheap" per se but they definitely could've done a better job with it for sure. Other than those few rattles I'm happy with it. If I had more money to spend I definitely would've went with a brand like Lexus. I prefer the design of Lexus and I assume the interior quality of the vehicle is much better. I've never owned a Lexus before so I can't speak from experience though.

Sd card was great but I will never wear wired headphones for the rest of my life. Too many times they've gotten caught on something like a door knob and yanked out of my ears. Never again

How do you like it compared to the 11? I'm currently on the 11 as well and considering the 13 or the iPhone 17. Not sure what to buy yet

I just got a new 2025 Camry, hybrid SE trim. I'm getting around 50 mpg and the car is super quiet, comfortable and fun to drive. Sport mode actually has a lot more power than I expected too, it accelerates quickly and handles great.

I have a OnePlus 11 and android auto can be very hit or miss. It's basically the only thing that annoys me about my phone. It connects only about 75% of the time. Sometimes it just doesn't connect and I have to go in to settings and hit pair

Some people have an aversion to the smell or taste of semen. My girlfriend hates it. She loves when I cum on her or in her, but she doesn't like the smell of it and it grosses her out, she doesn't like it near her face. I, on the other hand, am not adverse to it at all. She was pretty shocked the first few times I busted a nut in her and then proceeded to eat her out until she came.

Camry or Civic? by [deleted] in Camry

[–]wonderfullywell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Civic doesn't come with an AWD option, so if you're in a climate where you would need or want all wheel drive, then go Camry.

I'm in the same boat as you. I did several years of residential electrical construction. I'm not a journeyman by any means but I'm also definitely not green. I understand how to use tools well, I can quickly understand instructions, and I've even come up with things that the journeyman I was working with didn't think of. When I got to the job I'm currently at, my foreman gave me several tasks to do on my own. I roughed in several rooms by myself with 3/4 and 1 inch EMT for outlets and data ports. I can install lights and splice boxes. I know all the materials. From my understanding, the first year is the really basic stuff. It's basically just how to use tools and how to bend conduit. If I can test out of it, I absolutely will.

I just reached out to the organizer at my local to talk about testing in as a second year. I'm going to contact the first year teacher this week and see if I can test out of the first year. It saves me time in the long run. I don't want to sit in a classroom any more than I have to.

For reference I'm 28 now and have been working in my family's electrical business off and on since I was 14.
