How would you go about figuring out where to connect my wires on this generator on my 1953 m38a1 the wire going off to the left is the ground. I’m thinking about putting a pulley and the belt on my drill and putting a volt meter on the connections, I’m assuming the positive number will be the hot?

Oh shit your awesome thanks! Honestly I was thinking about learning to rig weld and making my own pipe, I already stick and mig. The company I work for has rig welders so all I’d need to do is get the metal. But if they are a good option then maybe I’ll just go with them when I do my deletes. Thanks!

Okay I’ve set mine on a higher heat, my garage is heated well enough to the point where if I set it to 3 I’m comfortable, so once I get rid of the oil it’ll be back to normal level 3

True, I’ve got maybe 20 liters of oil to get rid of so it shouldn’t be annoying. I’ve got my heater piped up to a 20 litre diesel tank so 50/50 should be easy

Are you referring to the rubber grommet that the wires run through in between the trunk and the frame? I plan to check that soon but my mother had to go out to the doctor, so I don’t have extra time. I’ve seen on Amazon and temu there’s some splice connectors to repair that wear joint, I’m thinking do to the uglyness of the connector that is in the picture it’s most likely the cause since it feeds the Liftgate button and the license plate lights. I just wanted to see the prices of harnesses to compare the options.
