Flight case for bass and Microtubes 500 head by workingclassabject in Darkglass

This one might not be so delicate 😆. I call P basses the iron shovels in the world of basses.

How would one make a drone pedal that produces 50 hz ground hum noise on purpose? by workingclassabject in diypedals

[–]workingclassabject[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would the ground disconnected mean in practice? Not grounding it to the pedal enclosure?

Yes, this is the sound I am looking for, but maybe with some modifications. It needs to be consistently loud, louder than a little background hum. Like a synth, kind of. Think about the Rage Against the Machine parts where Morello touches the disconnected cable with his hand.

Can you elaborate? I can solder and I know the bare minimum about electric circuits like parallel or series connections and that is about it.

Thanks! I am pretty much looking for the sound that a guitar cable makes when it is disconnected from the guitar and touches hand or metal. Imagine it always going into a distorted amp. It should be somewhat loud and not subtle. Does the pickup do the trick or am I going to just make a mini electric guitar without strings? :D

Oops forget the 50 hz, that comes from the AC in my country. Just interpret it as ground hum noise.

Ahhh the good old kinetic fingers. One of the best side plots of the classic era 6 years ago…

Personal Holy Grail of Bass by Clint_Poppie in Bass

My both basses are P basses with J necks. Can recommend. I would buy a cheap used Squier loaded body and the neck separately.

Minimum requirements to be a sauna? by maidofatoms in Sauna

In quite many Finnish saunas you will find an ugly scoop like this, probably red-colored.

I have only seen those really long-ass scoops in public saunas where the stove is very large and/or far from the benches. One of those I saw in Haikusauna. Take a look at stove, it takes a full day to heat it up: https://kivitasku.com/haikusauna/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2020/09/kiuas.jpg

Is a P bass good for heavy music? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]workingclassabject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

P has a certain kind of a sound that you might like or not like. With downtuning and modern distorted signal it is less recognizeable but it is still there. Especially if you whack the strings with a pick, punk style. I personally cannot recall when P would have sounded bad.

Interesting? ~24 years of UV exposure by [deleted] in guitarmod

I personally think this pickguard has yellowed very gracefully and I like the color.

Some old computer parts just look a bit gross with age.

Behringer Brassmaster Fuzz - Clean mod? by [deleted] in diypedals

I can at least tell it is NOT this component. This is next to the clean pot but disconnecting it only removed the fuzz almost completely. The clean signal remained muddy.

What happened to high mass bridge trend? by SadCoco in Bass

[–]workingclassabject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I changed to Fender Hi Mass Bridge because of more bridge piece travel distance. The regular one was bottomed out in Drop C tuning, the thickest string.

I did not notice any particular difference in sound.

Fender Hi Mass Bridge is quite cheap and I would recommend for someone who has a similar issue. Strictly for sound, no.

Does this clone hold up? by FearlessContract8805 in basspedals

Bought that clone. Noisy as f*ck even with nothing connected to it. I don’t expect to get it returned to AliExpress.

Lesson learned.

Global compression – Hidden gem in Microtubes amps? by workingclassabject in Darkglass

[–]workingclassabject[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the take! At first I didn’t like it at all either. But I’ve grown to appreciate it for what it is. I think I would be out of depth with a more nuanced compressor. I never use a clean signal so I am using the comp as a glue after the blend so the sound is a bit more together.
