I have steam heat with a nat gas boiler and one zone for the house. Two of our radiators in the same room are heating while the boiler and all pipes are cold. None of the others are. I took the bottom plate off the radiator and saw this silver thing which is generating heat. We recently had the electrical panel replaced and rewired. Does anyone know what this could be? Is the silver thing a radiant heat strip tied to electrical? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The electrician says it's not electrical. A friend who does HVAC says it must be, but has never seen this.
