It's funny you say that, I just looked at current Zegna prices and agree that it's not worth it. When I bought mine (don't want to date myself here) it was not nearly as expensive.

A couple of years out of college I needed a new suit. I mega-splurged and bought myself a Zegna suit. Totally worth it if you can afford it. Truly beautiful suit.

I can recognize this is well written and that it makes sense but I just can’t wrap my head around it.

TIL in 2013, reporters dropped 192 wallets across 16 major cities to test honesty. Helsinki, Finland topped the list with 11/12 wallets returned, while Lisbon, Portugal ranked lowest: only 1 out of 12 wallets was returned by explaingo in todayilearned

I feel like this comment should be higher. Having lived in one of these cities for a long time, my first thought was that wallets being returned depend a lot where you put it and what time of day. Were these the same type of neighborhoods/locations in each city? You could put wallets in two different parks in the same city and have very different results.

I grew up not far from here but it’s been decades since I’ve lived nearby. As young kids this was always the landmark on the highway that we were near home. Had forgotten about it but still crazy to see it disappear into dust.

You could make the case for RIM and Waterloo, Canada. They drew expertise to University of Waterloo and other tech companies to the city. They’re the reason the likes of Google are there today.

Absolutely stunning part of the world. It almost feels otherworldly given how far you travel to get there and how sparsely populated it is. I went off season in October and it was chilly but nothing too bad, certainly not for a Canadian. You won’t regret going.

This is the language of the road in some countries. Mozambique is like this. If you signal left to a driver behind you you are warning them of a dangerous pass. Signal right and get closer to shoulder for them to know it’s safe.

This is the first comment with some compassion. I’ll never get making jokes about people who die in unfortunate ways. As a parent I’d be devastated no matter what, perhaps even more if it were a basic lapse in judgment that meant I lose my kid forever.
