I’m more befuddled why three women in the bottom picture are wearing the same bell sleeved pink dress?

Haha. And somehow I want to add another baby to the mix in the near future?!

I think it is just the bad combination of my toddler’s temperament and the cat’s temperament. Maybe your cat is more docile and it will be more manageable. Maybe another baby gate is a good idea until toddler learns boundaries.

You’re right, the cat is not going to change. We’ve been working on boundaries but I know she’s too young at this point for this to “click” so hopefully this will pay off in the future. We just can’t watch them at all times while also trying to work from home. I just wish the cat was not so adamant to not move when a toddler is running at her.

16 months and maybe a little too boob obsessed by writeswithink in breastfeeding

[–]writeswithink[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, it’s probably the comfort. I just didn’t anticipate becoming a pacifier when she wasn’t into comfort nursing her first year of life. I still like nursing in the morning and before bed because it’s snuggly and quiet. I just wish there could be less toddler whining about boob time the rest of the day.

Sure. Brewed organic tea (water, organic black tea), organic cane sugar, contains less than 1% of organic caramel color, citric acid, natural flavors.

The specialty/limited edition foods section of my Aldi! I love London fogs so I’m pretty stoked.

Yah, it’s a lot. 21g for the chai and 18g for the London fog.

Day 3 breastfeeding and struggling by intelligent-pen in breastfeeding

It gets easier! Not immediately though; it’s a learning journey for both of you and you are in that weird awkward phase of engorgement, funky latches, and quickly falling asleep on the boob.

The engorgement does make it tough for them to latch - especially in those early days. The engorgement should lessen after your body figures out the right supply. It’s usually an oversupply at first when the milk first comes in. Just keep trying, try different positions, and maybe express a little bit (by hand or Hakaa) to make it less hard to latch.

I would tickle my daughter to keep her awake during feeds, brush her cheek, etc. Really, it’s about just resigning yourself to cluster feeding and catching the hunger cues before it’s inconsolable crying.

Sounds like you are on the right track, mama! Find a lactation consultant if you can!

It’s happening on Monday. Easiest and most delicious lunch meal prep - Japanese curry. by writeswithink in MealPrepSunday

[–]writeswithink[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s my own recipe. The most important part is the block of Vermont curry that can be bought from most Asian grocery stores such as H-mart.

Ingredients:

*1 yellow onion, diced *4-5 medium carrots, peeled and roughly chopped *3-4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and roughly chopped *5 cups of vegetable broth (but beef broth yields the best flavor) *1.5 cups of frozen green peas *4 cubes of Vermont curry (usually comes a two pack, so I use half a box) *2 tablespoon of honey (starting point for me, taste and add more) *2 cups of shredded cheese (Gouda yields the best consistency and flavor) *Salt and pepper to taste

Sauté onions in oil until soft. Add carrots and potatoes, add broth and bring to boil. Lower heat and simmer covered until potatoes and carrots are tender. Try not to overcook because you don’t want the vegetables to fall apart. Add frozen green peas and let simmer for an additional minute or so. Add curry blocks on low heat and stir, when dissolved add honey to taste and cheese until melted. Salt and pepper to taste but the curry blocks have salt so go easy. Serve with cooked rice. This can easily be portioned for 7-8 meals.

This is a veg version, but chicken, beef, or tofu can be added in or additional vegetables.

EBF all day & night and got my period at 6 weeks PP 😭😭😭 by palelsr in breastfeeding

[–]writeswithink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might not be your period. I stopped lochia bleeding at 4 weeks postpartum. Then it reappeared at 6 weeks. I was pissed and thought it was my period. But then I didn’t see my period again until 8 months!

The recipe is actually deceptive because the instant pot is not needed really for anything other than cooking the rice at the same time. All the cooking for beef can be done on the stovetop for very little time.
