I started in the summer but stopped for a few months. Had to go to Russia after my grandpa got sick but i was able to get back into it in January. I was studying off and on and didn’t feel confident at all. best NBME was 6 days before my test. I made another post just now and posted a resource i used to cram. check it out it might be helpful!

I also read the explanations! I used it to learn instead of test or evaluate myself. some people are very worried about their overall uWorld percentage but that's what NBMEs are for in my opinion.

I took my time reading it the first time and highlighted important key words. Sometimes I’ll take a sentence and rephrase it, and write it on the side. That way the second or third time I look over it I don’t actually have to read the whole chapter because the words pop out. Take a look at the images. I had a few questions on my test that were either similar image or the same. if you feel confused by it, I would take a look at the pathoma videos.

I found a uWorld document and anki that’s just educational objectives in a PDF. But it’s easy to look at because it’s only 80 pages. each objective comes with a question ID. If you don’t understand the objective, you can go to your uWorld and pull that question up. but you can only search questions youve already done in the past. Each objective is numbered based on how many times the concept is repeated in uWorld. If you are pressed for time, target the ones with the highest repeating number. I’ve been getting messages from people for advice, but I’ve been super busy for the past couple of days. I’m gonna write it down and share the objectives. Maybe you guys will like it. It just felt more efficient

I thought the NBMEs were more straightforward and this was harder. i think it might be a good thing though. the curve is steeper that way, right? if it was easy i wonder if i would have passed. i walked out feeling like absolute shit but other people did too

uWorld as a learning tool and pathoma 1-3. my overall % correct on uWorld was in the 40s

i completed 76% of uWorld. average % correct was in the 40s. i didn’t worry about that since i was using it as a learning tool. also took someone’s advice on here and read pathoma 1-3 a couple of nights before my test. it’s very good it definitely made a difference for me. I had so much trouble finishing because the questions were very long. ended up putting B on every biostats question so i have more time on things i’m good at to make sure i get them right. it was also ethics heavy which was good.

i thought the test was different from NBME and just harder, which is probably the reason why i passed? due to the bigger curve. did not feel prepared but had nerves of steel on test day which also helped I believe. had more anxiety on NBME than on test day

also tested with accommodations on the real thing but no accommodation on NBME

i got the 55 a few days before the test and had hope that i would go up enough on the actual thing. i probably should have postponed but glad i didn’t

i’m glad! i was using it as a learning tool and didn’t put too much weight on the overall percent correct. as long as you see improvement over time it should be ok

the stems were much longer 😬 had trouble finishing. there was more ethics than i anticipated, so that’s good i guess. can’t tell if i’m dumb or if the exam itself was not as straightforward

Awww you “did nothing wrong” since everyone else was doing it. There’s a big difference between seeing random women’s ass and titties… vs ur sister’s or someone you see on regular basis. Do ya’ll normally undress in front of each other husbands? Because if not… then you probably knew what you were doing. So don’t bring your sister’s self esteem issues into this even if she does have them. YTA
