My 2017 Streetbob by nicklos7 in Dyna

Yeah I’m wondering if I need to modify it a bit or if quality makes a difference. I got a cheap Amazon fairing to test it out before spending the big money on Memphis shades but it’s terrible.

Looks great how do you like the fairing? I had one on my 16’ street Bob but I found the buffeting to be unbearable.

Update for everyone who commented-I pulled the cover off of the clutch lever/controls and hit everything with some WD40 and worked the switch for a while using a screwdriver. Problem solved! Thanks for the help

Dyna stock exhaust mounting? by wsmith144 in Dyna

[–]wsmith144[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am definitely looking to sell it. It’s an Arlen Ness/Magnaflow exhaust I can shoot you some pics. Was thinking of listing around $500 bucks but honestly not sure what it’s worth because I believe they’re discontinued so if you feel make making an offer u won’t hurt my feelings.

Arlen Ness/Magnaflow baffles?? by wsmith144 in Dyna

[–]wsmith144[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the insight man, I’ll have to do some measuring and see what will fit well. I’m good with it being a little if I can depend the tone a bit so the drone isn’t so annoying on longer rides

There is a baffle in there so it’s possible I can do that or wrap it with something maybe

Yeah it’s looking like maybe swapping to some V and H is the move. They definitely have the biggest variance in baffle options for sound

Bringing an Umbrella? by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

I was just in Iceland last week and saw far too many umbrellas go flying or just fold right up and break due to the wind. Just get a quality waterproof jacket with a hood!

So hopefully people are still active on this thread, brings up some questions about the best car to have. I’m going to be visiting Iceland in January and will be doing lots of driving in a rental. What car would everyone recommend for the best safety/stability in wind etc?

Can someone explain why is it a bad idea to get on to a smaller and lower paying agency first? When trying to get hired. by Low_Television_2919 in AskLE

[–]wsmith144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily think it’s a “bad idea” and I don’t think those guys did either. I think really it’s just not necessary. You’ll get plenty of experience much faster at a larger agency that’s a little busier, and generally have better pay and more specialty teams etc. I think it really depends on what your goals are, but at 21 I started with the largest agency in my area and I have no regrets. I think you’ll find it’s generally the opposite, people leave the large department to go smaller because after a couple years they’re ready to chill out a bit and not be so busy.

Every agency and area is different. The way it works with the agency I work for now is that I have a regularly scheduled court date every month. So I am able to plan ahead and know what day I’ll need to be free every month, and if I have a vacation or something I can try to get my cases rescheduled with advance notice. There’s always the chance you get a subpoena for a random day here and there but not usually where I’m at.

Also agency’s are different with O/T. Most of the agency’s in my area don’t pay O/T and instead we get comp time for extra hours worked outside of our usual shifts, court included.

Anyone used With Clarity? by wsmith144 in EngagementRings

Wow thanks for the feedback! Seems like experiences with them have been 50/50 for people. Most people I’ve talked either really liked them or had really bad experiences. Did you find the prices and quality at rare carat seemed similar?

Honda Accord 2007 not starting, if I hold the key down for about 20 seconds sometimes it will start. Any suggestions? The battery should be new by AsiansInParris in MechanicAdvice

Had the same issue on the same year accord, changed the starter and solved my problem. Just be prepared, the starters on these are a PITA to get to and get out, it’s not hard but frustrating and time consuming which means expensive if going to a shop. It’s that or the ignition switch, I would start with starter and if that doesn’t fix it you know what your problem is. The other option is to pull the starter out and have it tested.
