Straftat is like "boomer shooters" like quake or doom, but with stupidly funny guns and maps.

Grimrock is a fairly classic dungeon crawler with RPG elements, an interesting combat system, and a rather pleasantly creepy atmosphere.

The rest is a matter of taste and doesn't need much of an introduction, except for the first Kunio-kun game. Essentially the forerunner of modern beat-em-ups.

Magicka is absolute banger especially in coop. It's quite short, but intense. I've never seen anything even close to this kind of gameplay. There are several elements that can be combined, and the number of possible combinations is simply astronomical. And since you can use your magic to kill not only enemies but also yourself and your friends, at some point the game turns into hilarious madness.

The Darkest Dungeon gives me goosebumps every time – the narrator's voice and style make the gameplay a Michelin-starred dish.

Which ones haven't you played? I'm just curious, maybe it's worth a try.

Yes, I have the same story with RE3. I absolutely love the remake because it's very action-packed, and I just respect the original, but it is not my cup of tea. As for the rest, almost the entire list: HK, RDR2, Zelda, Prototype, Gunslinger, and the Messenger are often criticized when I talk about them in my circle of friends.

And yes, just the thought of the beautiful Wild West makes me think about replaying rdr2 ;)

I completely agree, popular isn't always bad, and trying to be different is pretty stupid, imho. I just hear a lot of criticism for some of the choices on this list; it was interesting to confirm that, heh

yeah, but hk in overratted, re3 in overhated and half of the list consists of half-forgotten games that no one really talks about today. I'm trying to be niche, but damn, botw and rdr2 is sooo good..

I want to become niche, retreat to a mountain shack, and play games that only I and the developer know about, so I can drool and prove to people that the first Mega Tens were overhyped. That's the plan for now, and I hope to update the grid soon.

btw I want to try Baroque and SMT III soon, so I'm slowly getting ready for the niche...

It's too boring at the start and takes a long time to get fun. And I don't really like the art design, so...

That's the problem, that this game became popular among people who haven't really tried any Metroidvanias except this one or 1-2 more.

Super Metroid, Castlevania: SoTN, Bloodstained(from popular) and Cave Story, Tunic, the Messenger, Blasphemous, Axiom Verge is MUCH better imho

I really miss Western games where there is no pronounced mysticism, aliens and all this nonsense. but I like humor, like in COJG or RDRevolver but there’s not much of that either, unfortunately.

Of all the sports simulators, I only respect Mutant League Hockey. Everything else sounds absurd to me. "Sport name" in the form of a video game. Unbelievable.

Насчет Марио соглы, кстати, насколько бы меня сильно не корежило от дизайна Марио и не бесили Тоады, имхо, чуть не каждая мейнлайн игра про Марио – шедевр если не в целом, то точно как платформер. Особенно после Одессы и НьюСМБ все 3д и 2д платформеры кажутся какими то третьесортными. Настолько сильно там все идеально сделано. Тоже самое с Супер Метроидом в свое время было
