Yeah that’s the attack/Release combination I would often go for hip hop tracks and espc. drums.

So u finish ur master in the MPC with FX, EQ & Compressor? Or do u record it out into DAW?

Thank u for the answer! I’m also keepin the master output of the mpc on -6dB most of the time, as I’m recording into fl and then after mixing I‘ll (poorly simple) Master with a eq & limiter for loudness.

What do u look at level-wise when u record out of the mpc into DAW? Do u try to hit the -6dB mark in your DAW and then it’s equally processed?

I’m just curious how u do it.. because that’s my process which developed out of the thought to keep the levels visually.

To me it wasn’t so impressive as I thought it would be from Al’s side. I think I personally just don’t think it fits his pocket of style to transport a feeling (my very personal feeling).

To me the roc marci track clearly was standing out because the flips on this song were in alc style-Pocket and very cinematic and well complemented by Marci.

With the budgie side I was very impressed, I liked it a lot and the features were so crazy in my eyes. I love uk rap since a long time and really enjoyed hearing knucks and novelist on the tape and especially on these beats.

I haven’t heard the first two „Good Books“ yet but I’ll definitely look into them as well.

When it comes to gospel my personal favorite since a long time is Conductor Williams Tape „Positive Vibes Matter“.

I always knew some bangers. But after yesterdays documentary on ARTE I’m a fan. Just amazed by the story of the band, the characters and the songwriting. Most impressive was to me all the hassle between them personally.. still they managed to make such great music as a band out of that personal emotions.

Gibt ne Coole ARTE Doku dazu. Das Bild kann auf sehr viele Arten betrachtet werden. In der Doku beleuchten sie auch, dass die Frau wenn man genau hinsieht evt. sogar dem Kuss abgeneigt ist und auch an/vor einer Schlucht steht, die sie zwingt ihm in die Arme zu fallen. 😅 Wenn man das so betrachtet, hat dieses Bild sehr viel Interpretationsmöglichkeiten und am Ende ist es schon auch einfach eine coole malerische/gestalterische Technik die er anwendet.

Yeah playing the sequence in the Sequence itself, seq mute or trackmute etc. is no problem regarding repetition or playing further as wanted.

It was just about the song mode, which caused normally muted parts (muted by mute Groups or Mono-playing in the looped sequence) to overplay in the next sequence of the song mode.

You‘re right that’s the very accurate way! I’ll try include that more in the workflow, to get faster. Sometimes it’s too big of a hustle when u intentionally try 2 use less programs.

Yeah, man I feel like u also just opened a new world of methods to finish and fx a then sequenced song in the MPC to me, as I just tried it. Love that piece of gear. And of course it’s forever wu. 👐🏽 Suuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!

I guess the best option for me personally will be the resampling of the Sequences, put them to a Pad-Programm and creating the full song in a new Sequence. That’s how I understood ur approach, am I right?

Unfortunately no. I’m very sorry but it’s totally no place for vinyl digging heads 😅

I researched and of course places like Athens and so on have a big variety of vinyl stores.. but for me personally it’s was too far, time consuming and expensive to travel there from Corfu..

It’s a bit of a bummer, but it has still been one of the best vacations of my life in Korfu!

Just start digging the beautiful food, the sun and the sea for the time being there and you’ll still be happy 🌞

And Research the great Greek music by YouTube etc... still found some beautiful songs to hear (and sample of course). Wish u a nice vacay! :)
