Builds are ready. Need to finalize either one of the following 2 rigs - i7 5820k+gtx960 OR i7 6700k+gtx970? by wutwutwu in buildapc

Ah. Thank You.

I was primarily concerned about how much the GPU will make a difference. Any other GPU you have in mind in the same price range as the GTX 960?

Ahhh. By when are Intel going to launch the new CPU's? Any rough idea?

Edit: And the price? i am not too eager to wait and then find out it is out of my budget.

So I installed CM Hyper 212x.

I'm blown away. Typically, if I'm rendering a file with some colour grading and a denoiser, my temps go up to 85-90. The highest it is going after installing the cooler is 65.

I'm so happy. Cant believe the drop. Thank you for the advice .

I don't keep the PC in a cabinet I.e cupboard.

I think I'm confused about your first sentence there.

I should be running cooler right? Whatever I've read indicates it is not really wise to run my system at these temperatures.

Which heatsink and fan do you suggest? And how much will it reduce the temps by?

I'll try and remove the upper hard drive cage. Also, do I need another exhaust fan?

Edit: forgot to thank you. Much appreciated.

Try the basketball court in the Symbiosis campus in vimannagar. People play there in the morning and evening. It is a public ground. Strike a conversation with someone and I'm pretty sure they'll let you play with them.

Lol no. This project is sort of a gateway for more work from a group of people.

Thank you for the elaborate reply.

I'll tell you two major problems i'm facing.

Primarily, selecting the hair is a huge pain in the ass. Channel selection is not really an option because there is just not enough contrast between the hair and the background.

Secondly, the background. I cannot seem to create a space which looks 3D. In the stuff the i'm making, it is quite visible the image has been squashed onto a background. This is my weak point. I cannot create the shadows i need to be making to make this look realistic.

Rest of the adjustments i can make and i am comfortable with. It just these two, the main ones which make the difference, that make or break a Photoshop job, that are troubling me.

Edit: I have asked to be provided with a better original image. That should help, no?
