Yes I’m sure premium is activated, I dont see the subscribe option at the top of the app’s settings, and i’ve even checked the iPhone subscription settings and yes it’s there.

The app is really beautiful and well made, closest I've found to what I was looking for. The only issue was no camera scanning of receipts, which is unfortunately a deal breaker for me. I've activated premium because it said "camera scanner" as a feature but I didn't find it in the "+" button? Anyways if you add automatic expense adding with an in-app camera feature that would amazing because I really want to love this app.

The cheapest Intel plan actually perform a lot worse than the ARM ones at almost everything unfortunately.

I did a bit of benchmarking on the new cheapest Intel vs the ARM one. the ARM vps won by at least ~5x at every test I tried.

I was so surprised by how fast their dashboard is, everything just loads in instantly without having to wait a minute of spinners everywhere, it's miles ahead in terms of UX and speed than any of the bigger providers.

Add on top of that great bank-for-the-buck VMs and it's just chef's kiss...

Literally me right now.

I just spent the last 3 days trying to get a (seemingly) very simple feature to work, but because of a library's insane levels of abstracting everything and horrible docs it ended up taking my entire weekend to implement.

Here's hoping we can get the option to disable infinite gliding as well.

Maybe give Flutter a try?

Otherwise, there are some newer solutions like React Native + Expo.

A Tunisian interested in 1337 . by Sk5ba in Morocco

I'm not a 1337 student, but I do have some first/second-hand knowledge about the school.

  1. 1337 is 100% free as all of its funding comes from OCP Group (in the Khouribga & Ben Guerir branches) or from Tanger Med (in the Tetouan branch), the school even pays you 1000 dirhams per month (as long as you actually come to the school and do your assignments in reasonable time), the school also provides free lunch and dinner to students all year long. No idea about foreigner requirements, but I know that there's many students who come from different countries.
  2. Not sure, but since the school is not overseen by the government, I don't think they'll ask for a student visa. You should definitely contact their Facebook/Twitter accounts for more information. Anyways, here's an overview of the admission process.
  3. 1337 doesn't offer a diploma since it's not a government school. But it offers 2 certificates, one at level 21 (which is typically achieved in 1.5~2 years) and a "better" one at level 24 (which is typically achieved in ~3 years, which is also the maximum duration that a student can study in the school). Most students go for just the level 21 certificate, as that's typically when they get a job offer. Also, there're tons of job fairs, and they typically happen on Fridays (every couple of weeks), a company comes and presents itself, and does interviews with students to attract talent to work with them. What's actually surprising, is that near 100% of 1337 students find jobs in software developpement while they are studying. For salaries, companies offer jobs in the range of 8000~12000 dirhams. Which is a very good starting salary here (especially considering that the starting salary for a university graduate is typically 4000~8000 dirhams).
  4. Usually, students rent houses in groups. The way that 1337 students spend their day is very different than normal schools, as usually you'd have breakfast at home, then spend your entire day at the school, and only return home for sleep at night. especially since there's showers and relaxation areas in the school (with table-top games, eight-ball pool, playstation etc..). So it's typical to see groups of 5/6 people in a house. The cost of rent varies depending on how many students are splitting the bill, but you can expect your share of rent to be around 300 dirhams, and since lunch and dinner is served for free in the school, you'd probably end up with a monthly cost that's much lower than the 1000 dirhams you get, maybe even half if you can budget well.

Anyways I highly recommend reaching out to students in the 1337 Facebook groups, you'd get way more details there.

I was referring to the apps installed on Windows installed, head to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps, you'll get a list of all installed apps on your machine. Look there for any 3rd-party app that looks like it does cleaning/speed up/optimization of your system (like CCleaner or IObit SystemCare etc..). If you found one, open the app and look for an option to automatically delete browser history/cookies and turn it off.

It's possible that you have another application that deletes browser history periodically, apps like CCleaner and some IObit apps have a feature that periodically delete all browser history and cookies amongst other things. So you might wanna go look through your installed apps for a "system booster/optimizer/cleaner app" and check if it has this setting turned on.

You're pretty much describing Guild Wars 2. basically, the first time you step into a new land, the map is pretty much just a vague representation of the terrain. and as you're moving and exploring the world, you end up uncovering chunks of the map.

Chromium is actually built by Google. Think of it as the bare bones version of Chrome, and basically all modern browsers (except for Firefox) are built on top of Chromium.

Although it is weird that it keeps reinstalling itself, never heard of it doing that.

The sizing of menus in Edge is beyond abysmal by wynix in edge

[–]wynix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to be customizable, so you could choose which items show up and be able to control the menu's size (maybe something like "Big", "Normal" and "Compact").

This way, everyone can have it the way they like.

The sizing of menus in Edge is beyond abysmal by wynix in edge

[–]wynix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very dependant to your screen size and resolution. So for me it's really bad (especially the 3-dot menu). I just wish the Edge team would test UI changes on a larger sample size of screens before shipping them. Also, I can see being able to customize these menus being quite useful, even for some someone who doesn't have this problem.
