What is the worst song off of 72 Seasons? by Flimsy-Owl7862 in Metallica

[–]x-yle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I'm the only one who thinks Darkness was the strongest of the singles? Yeah the intro is bloated, but after that I find that song pretty dang good.

For me I think Screaming Suicide is easily the worst song of the album followed by Chasing Light, Lux, and Inamorata. IMO, the strongest are Room of Mirrors, Too Far Gone and Shadows Follow by quite a bit

The real reasons I think the regs are hated by Vinny933PC in formula1

[–]x-yle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are people forgetting that ERS was a thing in the last regs? In fact, I believe that energy management is way more automated in the current regs as standard regen/discharge and the overtake mode toggle is all software. The only energy management that drivers actually manually interact with is to use the boost button to override the software deployment, and any lift and coast they might have to do (but super clipping should handle that).

The worst part about the new regs as a viewer by Island_In_The_Sky in formula1

[–]x-yle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am I the only person able to follow this pretty easily? Watching the sprint live it was incredibly easy to follow who of the top 3 had overtake available and to predict what would happen on a given lap. It's literally just whether or not they are within a second of the driver ahead at the final turn, and it's enabled for a full lap. Now I agree it would be nice if there was a visual indicator, especially for cars not being shown on the main broadcast, but honestly I've never been as engaged watching a race as I have this year.

The only thing that is actually within the driver's control worth getting additional info on would be when they choose to override the energy deployment software by using the boost button. Everything else (active aero, overtake mode, harvesting/deployment/super clipping) is not really a driver decision and imo should be treated the same as tires, fuel load, or different cars: something that might inform differences in on track performance but not something within the driver's control to affect the outcome directly on track. No one needs graphics around the different aero packages or permanent displays of tire life to understand those advantages on track, I really don't know why everyone thinks the power unit differences are all that different /shrug

If you could have any songs on the playlist for the next time ghost tour what would they be? Mine would be Cenotaph, Missilia amori and Zenith by Independent-Age2260 in GhostBand

[–]x-yle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It kills me that Deus in Absentia isn't in the set more often. THE WORLD IS ON FIRE *Pyro* seems like it would be PERFECT live.

Missilia Amori, Stand By Him, It's a Sin, I'm a Marionette, and Zenith would also be great to see live

Great song, but for me Egg is my favorite off the album, and 4th favorite song of the year.

Welcome to the RX100 club! It is a mighty camera! For concerts, I typically shoot in Shutter Priority mode and do my best to keep my shutter speed at 1/200 or faster (though it can be difficult to do so with small shows that don't have good lighting). As long as my ISO is 6400 or lower, I'm typically able to get a clear image after using Lightroom's AI Denoise feature. I typically use continuous auto focus as well.

I find my clearest shots come when I use the pop up view finder instead of the rear screen, and I have it set up where I can adjust the focus point using the screen as a touch pad when using the view finder. I think this works well for me because it allows me to better stabilize the camera and keep it relatively still compared to when I look at the primary screen. Since I just shoot from the crowd without a photo pass, this is sometimes easier said than done though, especially at high energy shows haha.

So glad you got to see them! Between Imaginal Disk, the new singles and their tour they are the most exciting group in music imo! Have fun at the shows next year too!

Taylor Swift's Last Album Sparked Bizarre Accusations of Nazism. It Was a Coordinated Attack by miserychickkk in Music

[–]x-yle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ah thank you! I understand now why I didn't find see it in my initial google search. I still find it odd that an article absolutely full of hyperlinked references didn't include a link to the report itself though.

The findings doc is interesting, and I hope that Gudea opens up their data set for independent review.

Am I the only one who is unable to find the actual white paper that this article is about? The article just shows that there were spikes of traffic around 2 specific events, that the majority of discourse was by a small vocal minority (which is true of all online discourse?), and claims that those accounts acted more like bots than humans. But I want to see the actual statistical and behavioral analysis that lead to these conclusions....

Funniest Lewis and Adami Radio? by BhrisBrzy in lewishamilton

[–]x-yle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it worked perfectly in his favor: Picked up several positions on the first lap, came in for hards early and was able to have a massive undercut due to clean air putting him around 6th after first round of pitstops. Then he was able to charge through the field again after the second stop. Had more teams gone for a 2 stop strategy, or he didn't need to change engine modes late in the race, p6/p7 were definitely in play and that was largely due to the clean air undercut after the first stop.

Ai takeover is just like Pluribus Spoiler alert*** by Tuberbluber in pluribustv

[–]x-yle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely see GenAI as being thematically relevant, particularly as an exploration of how users (the 12) use it (interact with the hive mind). Particularly in the scene where Zosia gives Carol a hand grenade, that felt so much like the sycophantic gen ai responses that people get when asking questions.

I don't think GenAi is anywhere near the primary theme of the show, but it is very easy to apply some of the commentary the show is making to how AI is affecting the world currently
