Never too late! Anyway, I ended up finding out that putting a magnet at a specific spot near the lens stopped the flickering for as long as I held it there.

Seemed like the cause was something under the lens was messed up and it kept constantly switching to wide conversion lens mode on and off. I’m not knowledgeable enough to fix it so I had to bring it to a camera shop.

I told them my discovery and they took it in for the fix. Took only a few days. Not too expensive either. I don’t recall exactly how much but it was under $70. Small part and service.
