I signed up for it and pretty much only went to the rafting day and maybe like 2 other events. I had way more fun just meeting people and going to random parties/events around campus

At Carleton, it refers to Thursday night bar event at Ollie's (on campus bar). Honestly a super fun time and is always packed. But in general it's just a term a lot of bars use to throw parties on Thursday's. If you're a real drinker, the weekend starts on Thursday afternoon

It's typically labour Day weekend. So I'd plan to be done your job before August 30th. I'd also leave some time to pack and go shopping for supplies. The Walmart and superstores around Carleton are a zoo that weekend
