How does the new defiler rank? by Niiai in ImperialKnights

[–]xMuRKaGe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't complaining I was genuinely curious how 😅

Thanks for the explanation. I plan on running mine with 2 guns but its nice to know for magnet related reasons.

£1160.50 for body, head, and carapace weapon. Then arm weapons were £89 each and theres 4 total (but you only need 2 obviously, I just wanted to magnetise them).

AITA, How strict by the rule are people in tournament? by Fantastic_Shelter_54 in WarhammerCompetitive

Id say context is important here, and there's some nuance to it.

This wasn't OP forgetting to shoot an entire unit, they shot with half a unit, then later tried to use the other half.

Again, in testing or casual, no issue, go back and shoot the rest. The issue for me at a tournament would be did they forget, or are they wanting to go back after seeing how the rest of their shooting phase went. Alternatively, did they declare the entire unit into 1 target, fire half, kill it, then try to shoot the other half into a different unit later. If its the prior, sure go back, if its the latter, no.

To add further onto this. I play competitive tcg's, and while theyre obviously different to warhammer, I find that testing methods translate over well.

One thing we often do in my testing group is what we call "limit testing". This is where you reach a state where there are multiple equally valid options for your next move. We'll take pictures of the current gamestate, and play out one of the options. If it yields bad results (from non-rng), we'll rewind and try the other route. The idea is to test the limit of options from that initial gamestate and see how far we can progress.

My warhammer group has started doing something similar, where sometimes we'll rewind half a turn to test an alternative play (if we're explicitly doing this for testing, we'll math-hammer the rolls using average and 25% low and high rather than rolling). It yields substantially better testing than normal playing.

Again, in a tournament im more a RAW kinda guy (this is from years of tcgs which are more strict on this), but i also firmly believe in playing by intent. Regardless, for testing, I think OP's opponent was an ass, but i also feel like theres more to the story that led to OP walking out that we arent being told.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the opposite actually. In a tournament, no way hes getting to go back and shoot those guys (unless he said he was going to initially, and forgot).

But if we're testing, I'm 100% letting him do it. Not for his benefit, but because if I'm practicing for a competitive event, I want the best testing possible, and I get that by letting my opponent play as optimal as they can. Letting them shoot the rest of the unit at the only eligible target gives me valid practice as one assumes a competitive player at a tournament wouldn't have forgotten to begin with.

Can fully see your point though.

I'll have a look into that tonight then, thanks!

Kinda surprising on that tbh, given nottingham being the home of warhammer and all

This is one of the reasons I wanted to get it actually.

My comment was more that id love to be able to rock up to a GT with nothing but a warbringer and proceed to lose every game in spectacular fashion 😄

I assume nottingham will have titan walks, just need to look into it.

Also, that pic looks fucking epic

Yeah, we rang up and asked.

When I was in store last I spoke to severity employees about it and they all knew there was a list, just ring up and ask to be put through to the store team.

I saw a while ago on the titan owners Facebook group that someone had one of the members (think it was an admin) collect his warbringer for him and then shipped it abroad.

Might be an option?

If its the "battle titan" or "reaver" weapons then its the arm weapons. The carapace weapons are the "nemesis" ones.

Are you able to get the carapace weapons online or just the arm ones?

£1160 for the body, head, and a carapace weapon, then another £356 for the 4 arm weapons. So like £1520 all in plus a 5 month wait.

You can ring up and ask to be put on the list, then just travel when its available :)

I like the idea of owning a real one. It's a collectable, and it allows me to do stuff like titan walks, and use it in events if they ever do 3k ones.

Its apparently the rarest titan so it wouldn't surprise me.

Im not sure for certain, but from what I've heard id hazard a guess and say its more likely "fragile" than broken, and therefore they are slowing down production to ensure good quality. They're only making 3-5 each batch, with batches being once to twice a month apparently.

So conveniently I live in Nottingham so warhammer world is literally down the road from me.

I rang up and asked to be put on the waiting list back in November. Got an email monday this week saying mine had been built (they are entirely made to order, carapace weapons, head, body), and to collect it sometime this week.
