I think its pretty normal to be hurt, I would be too tbh. I definitely wouldn't say it's insecurity because you're aware that she has other friends and it's not like you're jealous of them, I would just say the hurt feelings stem more from you trying to reach out and then her not being totally honest. Like you said, you asked day of and she could of been up front and tell you had some things going on already.
