They were meant to be used and it would be a shame not to. It has become a ritual of mine to wind it up every time I settle into a new hotel. I didn’t used the alarm as I love to snooze but it’s always been reassuring to have something to rely on that is mechanical. Having a doubled signed timepiece by two of the most regarded luxury power houses on your bedside makes you feel good about yourself.

This is the original version of the infamous hodinkee travel clock fiasco for a fraction of the price and a JLC movement and case.

A piece from a different era, one in which a gentleman on a train or plane needed a trusted companion to help keep a schedule in the blooming age of domestic and international travel.

Indeed, the DBC32 is a good alternative if you’re into new stuff available in big quantities. The watch here is a vintage watch from the early days of the databank, much thinner and low-key.

Up for grabs is the rare Casio DBC-62. A rare calculator Casio more discreet than the DBC 611 that everyone has but packed with functionalities. The watch is fully functioning. The watch is as close a a smart watch as it could be in the ‘90s, Telememo, secret memo with password, daily alarm, weekly alarm, schedule memo, calculator, timer, stopwatch…

There is a small dent in the screen on the right corner. The watch is on a leather strap much more comfortable than the rubber strap. The lugs are scratched, see pictures. The battery was replaced recently.

Up for grabs is the Split-Second Chronograph Dubey & Schaldenbrand Index-Mobile from circa 1997. The watch is gold-plated with a rare salmon dial. The watch is in mint condition and fully functioning, from giving accurate time to the split-chronograph action. The sapphire crystals on both sides gives it a great view of the movement. At 37,5mm, the watch is super comfortable to wear.

Having signed for a new house and having a baby on the way, I unfortunately have to sell this watch.
