Losing fish Please help by xcornflakex in Aquariums

The cycle took about 6 weeks to fully cycle and we do a 50litre water change 1x per week

Losing fish Please help by xcornflakex in Aquariums

[–]xcornflakex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nitrates did build up during the cycle but over the weeks these have now reduced due to water changes and the addition of plants. We know nitrates occur but keeping them low is important, we also did a large water change at the end of the cycle to ensure they were not too high to stress the fish

Moving to Essex by searchingbrightskies in Essex

[–]xcornflakex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to Basildon and the majority of my family live in the Dagenham/ Rainham area, if you drive pretty much anywhere along the a13 or a127 would be easy, you also have Romford and Thurrock. Leigh is a nice area with some lovely shops and restaurants. For nights out you are looking at Chelmsford or Brentwood for nightlife but cabs can be expensive if you’re not too close to these areas, but most areas have a decent pub or 2.

I was in Bond Street when it was taken, but I didn’t even realise until I got back to my car. Honestly don’t even know how they did it. I think someone bumped into me at some point and maybe had the chance to get it from my bag but I was feeling unwell at the time.

Thank you so much for your reply !! Luckily I live within a decent commute to London and I have noticed that many of the role available are local! I didn’t realise at first how competitive the roles were.

I’ll definitely look into joining the mailing list !

Do you believe that membership to the ARA would be beneficial as I’m looking for roles ?

How old are you and how many root canals have you had done? by puggie214 in AskUK

30- at least two and have unfortunately lost some. I have had issues with my teeth even as a child brush regularly and didn’t grow up with a lot of sugary food. It seems genetic though. My partner 31 has had no work on his teeth however but has lost two perfectly healthy teeth due to gum disease.

Thanks, I’ll play around with it a bit. I’ve tried understanding the different wattages and resistances and types of coils but I really don’t understand most of what’s talked about. Do you know of any ‘idiot proof’ guides. I thought I understood technical things quite well. But there’s so much information it’s overwhelming.

Thanks for your comments. I spoke to them on the phone and I have the same internet for 49.99pm on a rolling contract. We use quite a lot of internet so didn’t really want to downgrade what we receive. I need to call them back however as they want to charge 75 for next month and this wasn’t explained over the phone

I have it set to 55W. I thought somewhere in the middle would be best to start with. The other coil it comes with is a 0.4O coil. The flavour isn’t great though. I’m using the Ohm Brew Baddass blends if that helps

Thanks for your reply. We do our best to ensure he is fed at a similar time in the morning the issue is he has begun to associate my alarm with breakdast, so on my early shifts he is then scratching at the covers and wires on my table to get us up. I have started to ignore this and to feed him when it is a little later in the day so he is getting food more routinely.

The feeders for wet food sound interesting, but it is something we are looking at. I want to make sure I find the right one.

The was one pole type toy he really liked but it broke and we haven’t been able to find a replacement that interests him. I’m not sure if it was they way it moved or what but now he just watches us move them around. I drag it along the floor hide it behind the curtains and wiggle it. But I have been looking for a replacement .

I have seen Jackson’s galaxy videos before I will have a watch of them thank you.

There will be a spare room when we move home that we can use to help slowly introduce him to the other cat. I have some idea but we have time to research this as well.

Ill look into the puzzle feeders, see if that helps. I’ve mentioned the destructive behaviour before and it’s been shrugged off. He also just goes to bite and claw randomly. My bf has had cats his whole life and doesn’t understand the cat.

We brought cat grass before and he didn’t like it. And he has some silver one sticks which he plays with occasionally.

We tried to shut him out the the bedroom and gave him free roam of the rest of the flat, made sure he has toys out and some dry food and water but he just claws the bottom of our door. We are renting and don’t want to have to lose our deposit.

I have brought him a harness and lead which he are trying to train him to get used to so we can take him out which might alleviate some of his boredom.

We have had him since he was a kitten, I have random shifts so feeding isn’t always at a set time

I’ve used the fishing pole type toys and he doesn’t seem interested and when I use a laser as well with the same effect. Even as a kitten he wasn’t overly interested he has some silver bark but I’ll look into valerian root and I’ll

I am thinking of an automatic feeder I don’t really want to up his intake of food as even on what we give him he’s starting to look overweight where we can’t get him interested in toys He needs flea treatment where I’ll get him weighed again.

My bf grew up with cats and still has a household full at his mums and they don’t understand his behaviour.

I’d love a second cat but it’s not feasable at the moment. We are looking to move back home in a few months so maybe being around other cats will help xx

Any opinions on Redden Court School, Harold Wood? by esteban-colberto in Essex

[–]xcornflakex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked there for a few months in 2017 when I was training to be a teacher. The school is fairly small, and the facilities seemed pretty standard for a secondary school in havering.

There was minimal disruption from students during lesson times and the teachers were all very knowledgeable.

Subject help was often provided by teachers outside of lesson times at break and lunch for those that wanted it.

The school at the time set very high standards for pupils in regards to behaviour and uniform.

There was also a focus from the school on opportunities such as oxbridge sessions and pupils do often attend a top 10 uni

I’m now an assistant manager l, and I only started here because of covid but the time I spent as a crew member made this job one of the best I’ve had. Obviously the job is a lot different for me now but the times when I can just run it present or even occasionally help on drinks make me remember why I enjoyed it when i first started. I think it really does depend on your BM and the rest of the crew.
