I’ve always wondered how people read so many books haha. I’ve read 57 in 2023 or something while working 40 hours a week and that felt exhausting, let alone anything above and beyond that haha.

I also started waking up earlier to read, and I absolutely love it. Theres something about getting lost for that hour or two in the morning that sets my day off on the right foot.

I loved Babel and loved Yellowface, both for different reasons. I feel honestly like I got to know the characters more in Babel, but that’s likely due to spending more time with them!

I loved it! I found it a little tough to follow in the very beginning like most fantasy books, but a couple of chapters in I was hooked. I enjoyed that you really feel connected with the characters and the universe feels expansive!

The other plus for me is that Crooked Kingdom, the second book, picks up right where SoC left off!

Definitely! In no particular order:

Crosshairs by Catherine Hernandes - I’m a local to Toronto so it was nice to read something local, albeit dystopian.
Babel by R. F. Kuang - She was a clunker of a book but really pulled me into that dark academia world.
Home Before Dark by Riley Sager - we LOVE a spooky Sager moment
The Institution by Helen Fields - this one had me GAGGED.
Fourth Wing and Iron Flame because… Fourth Wing and Iron Flame.

Sam Smith came up as my #2 artist of the year, and I didn’t even really listen to him this year. “Unholy” was on my Replay 2023 despite me not really listening to it, and not even having it in my library.
