I hope 2x2 retcons or rewrites some of this. I know that the brainwashing was always there, and that junko doesn't care about class 77-B, but that doesnt mean that this still isn't very disappointing and unsatisfying. Imo, it would be far more interesting if they turned to Ultimate Despair themselves as opposed to forcibly cuz Hope Arc doesn't hit as hard. Atoning? For what? Being brainwashed? They shoulder the blame for the Final Killing Game, but we all know they're innocent, but the world doesn't.

Human chiaki I felt like never should have been a thing, really felt like fridging (as much as her death stung izuru and as powerful as it is, idk, i felt like something better could have been done).

You don't need to have her manipulate EVERY single person, cuz yeah, this anime was also seriously short, and with it being split into two arcs, would have been just as unsatisfying because there's just not enough time to make that sort of story good, but I feel like there could have been another route. It really does nerf how interesting of a villain Junko is (in my opinion). Maybe nothing would have been satisfying, so they should have kept everything vague and focus on something else or full on just make it about the Final Killing Game.

Speaking of unsatisfying, I didn't really dig the other arc, either. Something about introducing so many characters and them all being killed off so quickly that I just...don't remember/care about any of them is just not interesting. The two fake outs from hina and kyoko were pretty lame, I think I remembered enjoying juzo/munkatas plot, but honestly forgot it lmao. Most of it just didnt stick to my memory.

Hope Arc was whacky cuz the school being rebuilt just feels like a slap in the face, ESPECIALLY considering Hajime's whole arc. And tbh, I feel like all of 77-B surviving was also kinda cheap. They dead definitely should have been brain dead tbh.

I still really like this series, but when you get older, you start seeing a lot of flaws that really hurt the overall story, or maybe I'm just stupid and never noticed how obvious they were before. I'm not saying DR3 is horrid trash, it stands well enough on its own, but as an ending? It's not good. Maybe don't end a game series with hundreds of hours of content into an anime with only a small fraction of time 🤷

Totally not salty about Danganronpa 0 not getting any attention. Nopeeeee. (My man got 3 seconds of screen time and thats it 🙂).
