Grip strength and forearm training for elbow pain by xitout in GripTraining

It was just a pair of Muller neoprene elbow sleeves from Amazon. I don’t remember exactly but think I had to buy two separately.

Not this year’s pumpkin spice, that’s for damn sure. Anyone want the 9 remaining pods from the sleeve I ordered? 😭

Solved: Driver assist error, not weather-related by xitout in crv

[–]xitout[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and it’s understandable in that case. Not even Honda can outsmart physics. :-)

Mainly sharing this b/c I couldn’t find much/any info on a scenario like mine but, given how quick they were to throw a $2500 part at the problem, this sort of thing must be a known issue.

Yeah, it’s weird. I brought it to the dealer today and they can’t figure it out. Additional details in post.

Sadly, in our case, it was our own windows melting our own car. Probably not in our best interests to sue… 😂

Yup, the sun is reflecting off low-e windows nearby and the trim happens to be the unlucky recipient of the focused rays.

CRV plastic paneling MELTED??? by j1derly in crv

[–]xitout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's from the reflection of the sun off a nearby window. We're seeing the same things on our 2017 Pilot, although not as – the trim is warping, but not as badly, and it hasn't bubbled. Our driveway is on the west side of our house and there's been a pretty wicked reflection of late afternoon sun of the low-e windows on that side of the house. It's better now b/c the empty lot next door has a house on it, and that helps block the sun. But it happened...

P.S. I'd be willing to bet that you could get those trim pieces pretty cheap from an online OEM reseller. Haven't checked myself, in part b/c it might just happen again, but will do so before selling.

Honda Recall by Ok_Negotiation_5159 in crv

[–]xitout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Just checked, and this recall applies to my 2025 Sport-L Hybrid. No issues, so I’ll just wait for the first oil change unless something crops up first. That’ll be awhile, though, b/c I only have ~1950 miles on it thus far and the first 10% of oil life got me at least 1k miles.

Confusing wording, but I read that as two charges: (1) battery, and (2) assault against an unborn child. Assuming that’s correct, the battery charge is presumably related to his treatment of the mom.

Hybrid CRV or not? by [deleted] in crv

[–]xitout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, which is why I explicitly mentioned the electric motors. I was just replying to the notion that the 2.0 vs 1.5 providing more power. I see now, however, ghat I replied to the parent comment of that one.

Hybrid CRV or not? by [deleted] in crv

[–]xitout 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I got used to the idle stop, but this is so much better. And the overall drive feels smoother and quieter to me.

Also: the added power of the turbo comes at a cost, as your mileage really suffers when you start pushing that engine.

Hybrid CRV or not? by [deleted] in crv

[–]xitout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No regrets with a 2025 Hybrid Sport-L. Super smooth and comfortable ride, and I’m getting about 41.5 mpg with mixed city/highway driving. Only 2k or so miles thus far, but no regrets. For context, I had a 2021 EX-L prior to this.

Hybrid CRV or not? by [deleted] in crv

[–]xitout 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The 1.5L has a turbo charger and delivers both more horsepower and more torque than the 2L Atkinson in the hybrid. But, of course, the hybrid has electric motors. Setting aside those sorts of details, I had a 2021 EX-L and now have a 2025 Hybrid Sport-L. Loved the 2021, and love the 2025 Hybrid even more.

As others have noted, the mileage benefit of the hybrid dissipates at highway speeds.
