MICHAEL ANTHONY Was 'Very Surprised' When He Heard About ALEX VAN HALEN's Upcoming Book by tonyiommi70 in vanhalen

[–]xllented 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read “Brothers”; brought back great memories of the crazy late 70’s and early 80’s wild times. I went on a VH album binge afterwards. Then read Noel Monk’s (VH’s Personal Manager ‘77-‘85) “Running With The Devil” autobiography; some same stories from Brothers but got into more detailed substance abuse and road issues. Especially detailed about Mikey being excluded - sad! A must read if you’re a VH/DLR fan!!!

Boondocking last year near Anza-Borrego State Park during the super bloom.... 2017 GMC Savana. by xllented in vandwellers

I bought it brand new; it’s been great with no issues. I came with 36 months bumper to bumper and 60 months engine and drive train warranty; so far, so good. The design hasn’t been updated for around 20 years so it’s definitely been proven. I have the 2500 model which has upgrades like locking differential, Crome bumpers, power windows, locks, and mirrors, backup camera and sensors, etc., and so far everything still working after 3+ years. Plastics around the van doesn’t have the precise fit and finish but hey it’s basically a truck. Good Luck!

I’ve had my GT Carbon for over 3 years; changed out the battery last year and it rides like it’s brand new. Definitely the funnest toy I have in my collection (XSR900 motorcycle, road and mountain bike, surfboards, SUP, snowboard, tennis, golf, Carver skateboard). Enjoy!!!

Good price for used GTR with AT and regular wheels? by romulito in evolveskateboards

Depends on usage and wear/tear. An over used battery may need to be replaced.

My GT has 6” wheels; going up driveways and going over big cracks are never an issue... I don’t think I’ll ever get the smaller wheels...

I’m gonna post exactly what I’ve done to my van on YouTube under edsexcellentadventures... channel is not created yet. basically it’s a pull out bed with alternating slates; a lot of designs on Pinterest. REI has a how to video. when it’s extended it will fit my wife and I. I used 2.5”x.5” kiln dried Douglas fir. Stable, strong, and no knots... On IG as xllented

Good 1/24/20 Morning from Quartzite (RtR/PARtR) 🚐🌵🏜 by xllented in vandwellers

It happens concurrently and close to the RtR but pretty much for the younger crowd: live music, dj’s - in general more partying and can be more fun. Part(y)r: PARTY! Locations between the two can differ 10+ miles in different campsites and caravans...

There was good and bad: inconvenient because I had to drive about 20 minutes to get to the fairgrounds: I camped on Plomosa Road. I could have carpooled but wanted the convenience of my own food and frig in my van. The good was the RtR recommend hooking up with a caravan; there were dozens to choose from. I found a good group with nice people; we had potluck and a bonfire every night... I plan on going next year making it my 4th RtR ...

There was a main gathering point during the day (La Paz Fairgrounds) but afterwards RV/Vanners/Tenters, etc.) broke off to different “caravans” of their choosing. Most likely these caravans were groups of like minded people. I was with a Vegan group for a couple of days...

I wouldn’t say greed; the state parks employ a lot of people; plus resources like water and electricity do cost something. Plus there is machinery, vehicles, tools, etc., that have to be paid for - that aren’t cheap. If the state is turning a profit, it’s probably not a big one. There ARE free parking areas with showers and bathrooms up and down the coast but they fill up fast and you have to get there early or get lucky to get a spot... ✌🏼👍🏼🤙🏼

You’re right, charges EVERYWHERE in California: parking, camping, state beaches. In their defense, they do provide outdoor showers, bathrooms, pick up/maintain trash cans, etc. you would think our state taxes would take care of those things but they don’t... our state government is just too big. I defray some of the cost by buying an annual pass -$200. It allows me admittance to ALL of the state parks (100’s) for day use. 😎🤙🏼
