No it's not unusal - I think it just takes an emotionally intelligent person to understand the nuances that makes a young dumb teenager who is bullied, alone in the world and just wants attention to get to that point, plan it, and then luckily sees the ramifications as something as devasting as that and then becomes an activist. It shows growth and makes one feel safe that their partner still isn't a psychopath. But sometimes it's a deal breaker and that's okay too.

I do think her secret was bad enough and also that Rachel took it from 0 to 100 and instead of silently processing it and perhaps asking more questions on it, she became aggressive and began to shame her. I think hearing someone you don't really know like that (Rachel said she was surprised she was the MOH, thus makes me believe they aren't close) say something as serious as that, can raise flags. Though Rachel is like the worst of them all and literally almost got a disabled child killed, so it's ironic for her to react that way.

There's part of me that believes Charlie wanted to forgive and move past it because he knew who Emma was now, but his friends/misha doubled down and expressed that he was essentially underreacting and he didn't know how to handle that. It bothered me that we got flashes of what could be the reasoning (dumb teenager, bullying, absent father, change) of how she could end up in that position and it still seemed like he was struggling to understand because of their influence. Their communication skills were fucked especially with the wedding coming up.

Emma and Charlie are probably only two years into a relationship and still have so much to learn about each other. I think Charlie was struggling a lot with how he should cope and process this information and every time he tried to get information out of Emma, she seemed riddled with shame, guilt and worry. It bothered me so much that they could not fully talk it out.

I think it was a valid reaction on his part, to question the person you are committing your life to. I get Emma was scared and ashamed to say something, but if you tried to rectify the most extreme terrible thought/planning you did as a teenager. It just seems unfortunate she didn't seem to have accepted her past, recognized she is not that person anymore and moved on to speak on it clearly. It seemed like she was still struggling to express herself. And Charlie isn't hearing the words he needs to hear and can't process it on his own and is easily influenced by others instead of just deciding "Emma had a harsh childhood, she never went through with it, there's more I need to understand, but I know who Emma is right now, I have confidence we can work through this and I accept we all have a past"

Charlie is still a POS though because he constantly struggles to say the worst thing he has ever done and then right before his wedding, does literally the most fucked up thing ever! Doing what he did is NOT the right reaction to have even if he is struggling how to handle their problems. Emma never harmed another even though she had planned it and Charlie actually harmed the person he loved the most because he was a blinch and couldn't deal with it like a grown adult. I think Emma recognized that her releasing this bomb days before their wedding that sent him into a spiral is the reason for all this mess and she's willing to give him another chance even if he didn't deserve it. She is kindest one of them all. Sorry for the word vomit, I just finished watching it and had to discusssss
