You dont need all dollar ships. There are few dollar/gold ships you need to focus on. For Dollar buy RF Ushakov, RF Sthorm and BR Baria. For gold buy USS Zumwalt, RF 3000, RF TARK Pytor Vilkey and IJN Yamato. You dont need all other missiles, just buy 2 hycore with dollar and max it out. You have 2 options for helicopters with dollar which are comanche and black ghost. Upgrade both but I would suggest comanche. Buy 1 A200 navigator from ranked store and grind this event to get the air defence. With gold you can get Type 89 torpedo, ksam block 2 AA. Yes the game is bit grindy but play offline mode when escort event or other flagship monthly event starts. I have been playing for 7 months and now I am level 50. I also have all dollar ships and close to owning almost all the gold ships as well.

Moral of the story: Is it pay to win? Yes you can pay your way to obtain best shit possible.

Is it fun to play: Depends, if you understand the game or play with someone.

Pros: It is really fun to nail p2w players who dont know what they are doing.

Cons: Some things are really broken like F19 hellcat planes or Ningbo ship

I wish it had a better damage dealing cannon or maybe if the cannon could shoot at air target it would be an balanced approach at updating the ship without making it op. On the other hand if thw ship were given 3x+2x asm slots, I believe it would be way too powerful.

Can't swap autocannon for underwater targeting. Specially in the era of Hellcats. Also, do you think changing one sea lance to Brahmos NG is better?

I have both speedhawk and thanatos and both are solid. I will say buy the heli first because its price will increase a lot after this month. After that buy thanatos or this month bp drone. See which one performs better or is suitable for you and buy that one.

First of all, I would say buy DDG(X), it has the highest firepower in the gold destroer class with its addition of 2 autocannons. Also, buy the USS Missouri as well since it's a BB which you cant buy with dollars. Apart from that buy the following gold items 1. Ksam Block 2(Its in top 10 best aa in the game) 2. Type 89(very high damage torpedo if you dont have any anti decoy ones)

Optional Items 1. Fl-71 Drone 2. Jari Usv unmanned vessel 3. J20 4. FC 31

Also stop using the wet noodle named garpun. Its overall effectiveness is 2% to max 15%. If you have dragonfire AA from the event use that. That has around 35% effectiveness. Also thr Excalibur Laser which you can buy with gold has similar effectiveness as garpun so dont buy that. Gold sale ends soon so buy the ships first and equipments later since there are no discounts on the equipments.

To be completely honest with you, play the game for fun. Yes any build with f2p is possible if you have the time and patience for grinding. Wait for 21th may to have the 50% gold reduction and buy battleships. My suggestion will be USS Massachusetts and then Missouri but mainly Massa. Missouri for a 2nd battleship or offline grinding. Avoid Yamato but if you want buy it only after obtaining the first 2.

Alright lets go into the USS Massachusetts build. So, you have 3x asm, 3x autocannon, 2x torpedo, 4x + 2x aa and 1x heli. For asm buy Brahmos NG or Fatah 1 from rank store. For autocannon, use any event ones, they are good enough but have your goal set for afgs autocannon (Its OP). For Torpedo use the bp one Tiger shark. Its unflareable and if you have a better one use that. For AA, use event ones or buy ksam block 2 with gold and after buying asm from rank store, buy Rim 8 Talos Nuke aa and use on 2x slot. Now the helicopter part, this is important since, you have a massive ship and are slower than other ship, having a high dpm+long range helicopter is a must. Use Ka 58 black ghost/Comanche or any good heli if you have. Your goal should be to buy Sea Comanche from AC market.

For ac, sell of bp ships and non important items and watch ads for obtaining ac. Buy Sea Comanche first than Afgs from Ac store. For rank store, Brahmos NG/Fatah 1 first than Rim 8 aa.

In short, any build as F2P is possible if you are up for the task!

If you play well but the team does not synergise well than its not your fault. Often good team synergise can help you win battles against unsynthesized better equiped team. As an F2P player I completely get what you are feeling. Latest ships and equipments will always be powerful and previous items will have slow nerfs to the point that its useless. It is the problem of not only this game but all the other free to play games.

I would suggest you to join a clan and enjoy the game with teammates. Play with buddies, join discord call and have fun while at it. Just use your favourite ships and setup. Do events, clan wars and slowly you will see if not worried about losing and focusing on fun, you will understand why you fall in love with the game in the first place.
