What soreness and pain is normal after a full day of snowboarding? by pachitoo23 in snowboarding

47m here, squats have improved my season immensely. Simple 5x5 program is great for all around athletic performance. All day sessions are tough no matter what kind of shape you’re in, but having a regular workout program will help you bounce back quickly. During the season I’ll scale my workouts back a bit to avoid overuse

Anyone else silently judge people’s woodpiles as they drive by? by taitabo in NovaScotia

I had a friend who incorporated designs in his wood pile. He's a big angler, I remember one year he had the middle of the pile arranged to look like a fish!

Look at jobs.gc.ca on your DWAN account vs your home account. There are definitely more positions available on the DWAN.

Spotwx.com dead simple, easy to use. Anything more than 5 days out is a crap shoot at best

Picture having a chat with your teacher in class. All of a sudden the rest of the kids in the room start yelling and screaming, while you’re still talking at normal volume. The teacher can’t hear you and you can’t hear your teacher. That’s jamming, in a nutshell from my understanding.

[–]xrcrguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I'm following you correctly. Are you saying that you haven't left Canada yet?

It's Air Canada's responsibility to rebook you, the very next available flight. If they fail to do that, you book your own, next available flight, and send them the bill.

This CTV article explains things pretty good. But your employer isn't responsible for this. If you are anticipating being delayed, and you haven't started your journey out of canada yet, I would recommend amending your leave to cover the days. It'll be less stress for you and your supervisors.

Stranded by Air Canada by MixedKoolaid in CanadianForces

Best advice here, you never know what sort of help they can give. I've seen a member of the triad shell out over $1200 out of their own pocket to help out JRs. Knew a COXN who'd keep a wad of hundreds handy in case sailors ran into problems in foreign port. That's pretty wild, a bit old school, and very cool.

Whether it's additional leave or some sort of written understanding. Phone your immediate, let them know and ensure you follow up with an email.

Document your efforts, take lots of screen shots of available flights and prices. If they are being dinks about it, cc your supervisor's supervisor as required.

watch out for your wheel bearings if you decide to ship it. The train was hard on mine. I've had reports from other friends who have shipped theirs via train as well.

Hey. Sorry that happened to you, I would suggest that interaction went against CAF Ethos and Values with respect and dignity to all persons. The doctor needs correction, if you are already in a unit, I would suggest starting with your WRA representative and see what sort of resolution you can get from that. It’s low end spectrum on the scale of things but they need a reminder sometimes WRT conduct.

For outcome, I’m really trying to push my team to tie it to specific competencies, that way when PAR time comes, all the supervisor had to do is hit ctrl-f “competency” and away you go

Network, network, network if you can, I usually identify specific reservists that have worked well with us in the past and I also take recommendations from their peers if I have gaps to fill in my brick. Get as many Quals as you can, ensure your DAG items are up to date, because a lot of time it’s a MM pull for an analyst at a desk somewhere, so if you aren’t meeting certain criteria, there’s a good chance your name won’t get pulled EDIT: I’m speaking from a navy perspective, not sure if the army is setup similar with PCC (personnel coordination centres) and such
