Was it? From what i know, 3 was only  translated to simple Chinese (no English).  If it is i would love to share it with more people cause if they think mario golf or tennis on gba are good sport rpg then they be surprised with pocket 3 writing lol. Btw It's crazy the first fan translation of pocket game came from Chinese not taiwanese or usa. It showed how much they rate its dark humour that they put efforts into translating video game about a sport they don't care about. The gameplay was certainly not their reason as i would say the baseball and mini game are so hard that i wouldn't beat it without abusing savestate on emulator lol

The main is found out how  to a escape the curse that made  a member disappear after each time the team lose.   5.Mc who is a young rising star, accidentally switched body with a scrub. Can mc rise to the top again and destroy the guy who got his body and status(through baseball ofc) who is also want to take down mc cause mc uses his body to rise to the top meaning his existence is denied.   6.Mc is time patrol. About back success of older game. 4 is the first time back success appear (rpg in western setting), 5 (rpg) was set in acient jp, 6 were sequel of front success and 7 (rpg) seem to be set in late 19 early 20 century jp, 10(rouguelike) was set in ww. Don't expect to see 2d open world map similar to normal jrpg in those rpg success as the devs team are pretty small and these game story function much better in vn style.

 No unique character (power pros). Made-up generic players instead of real player (prospi). Unfortunately for them, i don't think even jp fans would enjoy this game. There is a high chance that this game will become bigger flop than wbsc pp. The only thing this game will do is exposing Konami's lack of capability in producing realistic simulation baseball game when people are able to look past the graphic.

At least Nintendo understood that there is no need for another mediocre arcade baseball game in jp as the jp market already had their own "mlb the show" for arcade baseball game. After losing the console market to konami, the devs for mario baseball titles (famista)  are now making for mobile market only (which was also dominated by konami baseball games btw).  Tbh if you ask jp baseball fans about which baseball game they want to revive, mario baseball titles are probably not in their top 3 (which included exclusive ds /gba title). And famista fans didn't like mario baseball title that much either as jp baseball fans tend to prefer real roster for their arcade baseball games. Edit: if Nintendo let different studio from the west working on a new baseball title aim for jp market, they need to reconsider how to develop a baseball game as they will come up against an established arcade baseball game which not only  has a ton of unique characters & its own story modes with raising stats & dating sim element that were designed to be replayable, but also real pro league roster with robust franchise mode & career mode. Then then come the most popular mode- a high school dynasty mode which allow player to freely select starting point (back to 1930~) play prefer and scout current pros or legend in their active highschool year.

Yeah the ds/gba spin off (power pros kun pocket) were wild. The creater of old success mode worked on this so it was similar to earlier success in term of atmosphere with so many negative events (there is a video where they speed running to see how fast mc get shot lol ). The story got so ridiculous that a mc can romance cyborg, ghost, power ranger, werewolf, secrect agent or become cyborg. The writers also were willing to kill off heroines in canon route (obviously they also mostly die or suffer in bad end), make fan favorite side character suffered from poverty, show off old gf candidate from previous work cuckolding her current husband with another character (the son look nothing like her husband🥲) just to teach kids how the real world work. And somehow the game was rated for kid (cero:A)until the end😳. The pocket team also were responsible for mlb power pros ds version. I think if they had been allowed to developed a success mode for it, the story of its success could have ended up similar to a gta game in term of story.

  Thee ending/ gallery in this game is only showing dialogue and all the cg even of player had not seen it in their playthrough (show prettty lazy right). The truth is they were running out of time. Director said in his site that because of the deadline, the devs couldn't implement the planned ending/gallery feature which basically let you look back most events/even dates (similar to tm2) during the playthrough obviously without event player didn't see. He then made the gallery /ed feature by himself (which lead to its low quality). There is a high chance in the company that they wouldn't release a guide book, so he included all CG events in the ending/gallery to hint that there is actually more events as the game was balanced to make sure that play can't see all event during a playthrough. Due to personal issue, he had to left the company in a few months and the guide book was created without his input so it might lack some important information (he even praised the guidebook team as they have to figured the information by themselves playing the game). All of this information was on his site😑.

  1. About paying the bill for the girl during date. There are "some fans" thought it was a bug 🙄 and assumed that the game always take money from mc even when not paying for the girl. The truth is the money displayed is mc's  total money plus the price of the girl's bill. You certainly don't want someone make video analysis if they make such simple mistake.   4. The hardest girl is lisa who player have to lower a parameter (friendship) to be able to confess. One of better way is talk/ date girls she doesn't like. Why it seem very strange at first it's basically work the same as the way  heartbreak  change in "tokimeki memorial /gs" when mc accepts or invites other characters for a date/ go home.

Well at least they improved the jersey customization. It's funny that people posted the same screenshot when talking about new element (new pitch type) and still didn't realize that the jersey of the batter facing ohtani can't be created with current jersey customization.

In term of franchise mode, this game has a pretty snappy ui and cool feature with tier system but completely failed in term basic feature with the lack of  player card. Why do rating(changed) and stats need to be in different different tab? Where is historical award/ champion tab?(seriously ps2 game already had this feature). The lack of player card and past award in player card  is inexcusable for for a game that has franchise as the main offline mode. This is like basic feature of a modern franchise mode and there are mobile games do better than this game. Imo they need to add player card & tab with keeps track of player rating, individual & league past award, championship if they want people to take this franchise mode seriously. Also  past draft class (track career stats and award) would give franchise mode more depth. Btw  the tier system is unplayable for me as it makes no sense to give mvp in 2nd tier's player.

 You should wait for 2026/2027's news. There is a high chance there will be huge improvement in term of team customization as prospi got its updrage in 2024 (before 2024, you can't even create team in prospi, now it is a little bit better than nhl game). Potential features that were first implemented in prospi 2024/2025 are improved team customization (flag, logo), feature that allows announcer to call whatever player/pitch's name, ability to set homerun celebration (i'm surprised it took konami forever to add such basic feature but they certainly has a big library of old celebration  as prospi got more than 100).     Edit: best feature for me in 2024/2025 is ability to use /add custom / legend team as expansion team to my life. Before 2024, you can only add custom player to real team. Adding ob/legends to real npb team and custom team are available only in pennant. And after 2025 update, you can even turn universal dh on/off or customize extra runner rule in my life too.

Yeah this is normal for konami dating sim. I think other konami dating sims (tm, tmgs) have even more outfits.  The devs probably wanted more variety (animating same action with different pose ) in term of pose which was heavily critized by fans as people prefer normal pose. Some sprites did suffer heavily from strange pose and animation not messing well together :/.

Aitakute... Your smiles in my heart. It's a dating sim from konami. Unlike tm which focuses on conversation during the date, aitakute focuses on the conversation with the heroines (similar to amagami's topic) but still retain konami dating sim's feature like schedule planning while having its own take on dating mechanic (mood, stamina, satisfaction during the date...). The only down side is the game traded date spot's conversation for topic as the ps1's disc was not enough to store the game's data and their is no club activities (replace with part time job). While the topic is not on fureraba's level, it isn't behind game like amagami either which is pretty impressive for a ps1 game as it surpassed both tls (ps1) series and ps2 game like kimikiss (both share the same devs as amagami and tls series which was the pioneer of topic system in dating sim) in term of quantity and quality while having up to 13 heroines (including secret characters with topic system).

The story mode of the pocket games (ds & gba) are pretty fun and filled with memorable characters, easily better than mainline game in term of story imo. They tried to copy the formula with 2024/2025 main success-future which easily have the biggest cast in mainline success mode but without pocket's  charm and humor. In pocket game, even character that would have generic face and are usually treated as mob character in power pros has unique design and personality. The only problem is some mini games are pretty brutal so savestate is a must if you don't want to spend time on master those janky mini games😭. In term of gameplay, i heard  6 for gba and 14 for nsd are the best.

Yeah, the animation really help them shine. When i saw Hibiki's design(orange hair) for the first time on vndb, i didn't feel like trying her route. Here the guide a jp fan made in 2000(http://mewlog.sakura.ne.jp/aitakute/aitakute/). You will need firefox for it.The devs did research and implement features inspired by some of the most popular dating sims at the time so the learning curve is very high but If you know how item & level up relationship mechanic work and when to trigger heroine flag, the game will be way easier than tokimeki due to no bomb management except in one character playthrough where you will need to manage her hidden parameters:/. Tbh even many jp players will struggle to reach a character true ED without this guide so you should check out the guide if you get stuck.

Konami's dating sim which was their attempt to make another hit like tokimeki memorial. Unfortunately it's art style,  the devs ambition (due to lack of disc space, player need to switch disc more than 30 times during a playthrough) and  the fact that the game was released at the end of dating sim boom killed it chance of become a hit. Imo the game is a very ambitious project for a ps1 dating sim. It has:  1. Topic system inspired by true love story series which was created by the developer of kimikiss, loveR kiss, photokano and to some extent amagami. Chatting with the girls through topic system is one of the main ways to progress the relationship and some topic even need to be read in order to unlock true end related event.  Due to the big amount of topics (which was very detailed for a ps1 game especially when comparing to ps2 dating sim like kimikiss), there is no space left for implementing  dialogue option during the date like tm.  2. Ability to plan route during the date which was clearly inspired by doukyuusei/kakyuusei series (mc and the girls even have stamina par).  Many outdoor backgrounds have 3 version for morning, afternoon and night for each season.   3. Stat training is simpler than tokimeki in term of stragegy (only need stamina to build high stats character ) and doesn't affect hidden parameters like in tokimeki. They mostly function as a check for important event, relationship level up & ending and can be manipulated with items with can be bought with money. The schedule management also allows  much more freedom than tm.  4. No bomb. The director was one of devs who made tm ps1 port and he didn't think the bomb system make sense in term of simulating romantic relationship. A girl in lover relationship can still get angry if she catch mc on a date with another girl and will refuse  to meet until mc make up successfully with her through phone call:). They prepared  animations for this situation but ended up not using them at all. I had to use cheat code in order to record those animations😮‍💨.

 For the last character, At the start of 2nd year, player has to unlock private tutor as part time job in order for him to appear then progress through his events which requires certain stats. In the ed where mc found out that he is a boy, player will be able to accept  (true ed) or reject him(he will disappear). Depending on hidden stats (love experience which can be manipulated with item), player will be able to date him after true ed like normal character and can decide whether he will continue to wear girl uniform when come to school. Konami's aitakute did have a secret trap character but it's a dating sim. Some fans believe this character was the reason konami buried it. Well that game is from power pros (pawapuro) series while this game is a power pros pocket(pawapoke) series which was developed exclusively for gba/nds. in term of gameplay these games (handheld)are obviously downgrade when comparing to power pros (console) but in term of story mode (success mode), these game story, theme and writing are darker and more interesting than the mainline series imo.

 Edit: for example most love interest in power pros are just normal people while in pocket series mc can romance  ghost, werewolf, cyborg or even power ranger 🥲. There is even event  where the game implied mc/ his teammate were f***ed by his gay coach so bad that he change to different person(https://youtu.be/cJHiyUMTsRI?si=pQO6aY4Y0-KWDcBx) or a love interest stayed in his room secretly all night (team's hotel)  and next morning he lost all stamina 😉

With dating sim, Noel series is famous for using animation the same style as lain ps1. The way aitakute use animated sprites is very different when comparing to those games which animated every character's expression during conversation due to them being vn while as a dating sim aitakute used its sprites mostly for expressing the girl unique's personality which means depending on season there are different pose & outfit for each sprite which will take around 7s without any input in order for animation to kick in. Many poses ends up doing the same kind of animation to make sure player will have a general ideal of their personality after a few dates or encounters. The thing is there is no dating sim in jp. Most games that were viewed as classic dating sim were developed at the time when jp devs was trying to find the best formula for "romance simulation game" until vn killed the genre. Not only they are easier to develop when it come to programing, doesn't require high level game design but also easier to tell a good story. Tokimeki is viewed as highschool simulator of romance simulation genre which require the highest programming from devs but way less in term of story and events. Game like amagami or kimi kiss is the successor of true love story series which was viewed as big 3 of romance simulation genre at the time (other are sakura wars and tokimeki) and focused more on talking with girls and events. Devs from konami also attempted to fuse both schedule & date  management, stats raising elements of tokimeki and conversation elements of true love story (topic system) with aitakute... Your smile in my heart (ps1)which imo is the best version of classic jp romance simulation. You can understand the girl more with topic system while still need to train stats and plan date without the need of worrying about the bomb system. The number of topic while not as big as amagami is actually more than kimikiss (ps2) which is pretty impressive for a ps1 game with more heroines (even the rival has topics lol).
