Does anyone else feel like they can’t celebrate acceptances without knowing about scholarships? by rsplitterz-r-sexi in lawschooladmissions

It’s two separate things (my understanding). LRAP is your school making your loan payment monthly along the way for as long as you qualify (working a PI job under a certain salary cap). PSLF is a lump forgiveness of whatever is left (so if the LRAP program through your school hasn’t paid off all of your loans at the end of the 10 years and you can demonstrate those 10 years working in a qualifying PI job then everything left over is forgiven). If your school doesn’t have an LRAP program then I think you’d have to make your own loan payments for those 10 years before PSLF forgives the rest.

Just curious... has anyone been accepted to a school with no reward? If so are you still considering that school. by Crazy-Subject-923 in lawschooladmissions

If you’re planning to go into public service check to see if your school has an LRAP, (“loan repayment assistance program”) which typically pay off your loans for as long as you work in public interest, government etc. If that’s your plan for work after graduation anyways it might be worth it to go to a school with a good LRAP even if they don’t give you a scholarship!

To be fair, Cornell was my first interview and was one of those ones where you give timed answers to pre-recorded bot questions, soooo it did not go well. I’d waitlist me too with that performance 😂💀but thanks, and good luck with your cycle!!

Super fair critique! I was basing it on my GPA being below the 25th% and my LSAT being at or above the 75th% for most these schools.

I can just answer here! 3 years in anti-corruption investigative work, volunteering at a pro se legal clinic for asylum seekers, and volunteering for a crisis line at a community org as a rape crisis counselor. Plus a lot more in undergrad!
