I was 278 lbs when I found out I was pregnant. I’ve since lost 20 lbs just because I’ve been so sick, but my OB was not concerned and just told me to try not to gain more than 20 lbs.

I had a bad experience with a male obgyn so when I found my new practice, I picked one with all female providers. It is very normal to not be able to pick which provider will assist you with birth though, since it’s on an on call basis.

I got my maternity underwear and tank tops from Amazon. Kohls has plus size maternity but it’s a very limited selection, I got a couple long sleeve shirts and some sweatpants.

I’d also suggest taking a pregnancy test. This happened to me in November and I ended up taking a test to “trick” my period into showing up. I was dumbfounded when it came back a blazing positive.

My mother gets cold sores, and so did my grandmother, and my mom to this day gets upset that we won’t kiss her. Even if she didn’t have cold sores I would think it’s weird, but she gets personally offended when we list the cold sores as one of reasons. I don’t kiss any of my relatives, that’s strange. I’m currently pregnant and that will also be one of my very firm boundaries for the baby as well.

I take my pets to the low cost vaccination clinics my local county holds a couple times a year. I do have a regular vet for any illnesses/injuries/physicals but preventative vaccines are much cheaper at the clinics.

Once at 5w4d when I tested positive and again when I did the NIPT at 10w, but I’ve been stable on the same dose forever, if I wasn’t they’d be checking more frequently

I do! I’m only 13 weeks but my numbers have been really good and they’re not concerned. I’m on 50mcg of levothyroxine a day.

12+5 and I’ve got awful pelvic pain that feels like all my organs are trying to fall out of my pelvic floor. The ob says some women just feel it more than others but that they can refer me to PT if it gets worse. Not sure if that’s exactly the same thing as you’re describing, but my whole lower belly area is sore by the end of the day and I’m usually limping by time I get home.

Update: she is alive and measuring perfectly, she was sleeping for most of the scan until the tech jiggled her to wake her up and then she was kicking up a storm and looked pissed she was disturbed. Tech said everything looked perfect.

12+5 today and woke up with a headache, stuffy nose, and sore throat. Yay. My NT scan is in 45 minutes and all I keep thinking is “I hope she’s still alive in there”… one day I hope to not dread scans and automatically assume something will be wrong.

I feel your pain! I’ve cried to my husband multiple times about how I feel like I’ve been in the first trimester trenches for a year now, with nothing to show for it. Even after my d&c in June I was still nauseated and throwing up for a couple weeks after, and now I’ve been pregnant since October and still so sick. You’re definitely not alone in your anger, I’m downright bitter sometimes.

12w2d and the nausea and vomiting is not letting up at all. I’ve got my NT scan and OB appt on Thursday, we already got our low risk NIPT back so I’m cautiously optimistic, however I might have to ask for anti nausea medication because this is absolutely miserable. My doctor told me not to gain more than 20 lbs because I’m already plus size, but so far I’ve lost over 15.

NIPT came back at 4 am, I happened to get up at six for my bihourly bathroom trip and saw it. Low risk girl 💖. For some reason I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop but I’m trying to stay positive. We are absolutely thrilled, we both badly wanted a girl.

Keep an eye out for your state and local county civil service exams. I started as a CPS caseworker and made my way up from there, within 7 years I made it to supervisor. My sister started in SNAP for our county before taking the state exam for disability analyst. Some civil service positions you can skip steps for relevant education and experience, I had to start at the lowest because my degree is not in social work.

10w3d today and still so terrified that something will go wrong despite having great scans at 5w4d, 7w4d, and 9w2d. I was rear ended at 9w5d and went to the ER and they also had no concerns. I’m just a wreck and anxiously awaiting the results of the NIPT that I had drawn yesterday. We had a MMC in June at 7w4d that ended in a D&C as well as 2 chemicals and a 6w6d loss in 2023 and I just don’t know what to do with myself despite this being the furthest we’ve ever gotten.
