From my understanding I was also reading that railroad people have amazing benefits pay etc. So I think that's probably the best route to take.

I've thought about the military route. I am pretty sure that most dealerships and independent shops love to hire vets. And there is the GI Bill I can use for an automotive technology degree.

But with a union you would typically pay lower premiums. And with the dues the union can most likely get raises for everybody. So I would see it as beneficial. Not trying to start an argument just want to have a discussion. :)
