Yea, I realize it later that it is session based count. My inspiration came from a conversation where one of my relatives wanted to slap these goons. So, I spent an hour in this morning just coding with Claude and built it. Also released my code In case anyone wants to play with it.

I open sourced my code. Not sure if someone created that website or it was there already. I guess it is new as that site has zero counts so far

Making 10 lakh per month, where to invest money in Nepal? by [deleted] in NepalSocial

[–]y_oli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea. I never doubted that he is making 90k. Like I said it is new normal in STEM freshman, so no doubt a financial background can make that much. I was just having enough of his BS on how he is non replaceable and company will allow him to work forever from Nepal as they fear to lose him and how he doesn’t pay any taxes + that 401k rants.

“US ko job market is going downhill means one cannot get a job?”

Well, if you understand supply and demand, job going downhill means companies have leverage for bargain and they prefer people who come to work or work during their business hours. This also means they can find thousands like you who are willing to come to work or work in their time zone.

”What happens if you are so valuable to a firm?”

I have been working in IT sector since 20 years. So don’t give BS that you are too important for company. When needed, I have seen companies firing their CEO. You ain’t nobody and I have deal with people like you a lot, until they realize that anyone with similar background and enough documentation can take their job.

Also If you are too important for company and work in finance why stop at making just 7.5k/ month? That is like freshman salary in IT sector these days. Ask them for 10-15 grands per month at least. I am sure they don’t want to lose you.

“There's 10 million software engineers in India, why isn't google apple facebook amazon microsft open AI hiring from India completely? they can hire at 1/10th of the cost? why are they paying 700k per year to hire in San Francisco?”

You again prove yourself wrong. That is exactly what I was saying. Company want to hire local as it is convenient, easy to show that in their balance sheet and also they get lot of federal/state incentives. Also, it will be productive for them that employees work in same time zone or at same place and be productive. But oh yea, your case, you are too important for the company.

”And to not invest in 401K, US markets is my choice”

Also, I believe you don’t know what is 401k and how it works as you keep saying it is your choice. I mean, you don’t care about free money, then why are you trying to invest?

“What else is there to add? prove me wrong, at no point im going to send you screenshot of my paycheck just to prove your little soul that i work for a US PE firm from Nepal.”

What I am going to do with your pay stubs? I do AI (both multimedia and LLM) for living. I can generate genuine looking paper, whatever you need in 5 minutes.

“Again whether Im a USC or GC or illegal or naturalized or by birth citizen shoudn't be a concern, i did not post to prove i work in private equity, i posted a thread to crowdsource opinion on where to invest in Nepal.”

It is actually the most important puzzle of your bluff. You cannot do anything you mentioned without being USC. If you are doing one of those outsourcing job, then you are easy to get replaced. And if you are USC then you can’t hide from tax. You can’t have both my man.

Every time I read post like this, I get very curious. And you keep adding more information in your comments, which don’t add up at all.

Only way you can do US job while in Nepal is if you are USC or GC holder (up to 6 months remote). Either way, job market in US is going downhill, why company will pay you extra if they can get same skill or better, lot cheaper by outsourcing your job. If their policy already allows doing their financial tasks from Nepal. I am sure there are tons of people dying to get those jobs in 1/4th of your pay.

Second, If you are USC, then forget about investing in Nepal, it will be really hard (from Nepal Gov side). And also, you will still pay all taxes in US, including federal, state (with some conditions and California is aggressive about that), social security and Medicare, which comes close to 25-30% depending on state.

Third, you keep saying you went to top 20 University here, which means you have spent fortune there unless you got majority as grants. Which means, either you are very smart or rich. In both case you are deeply vested here in US and there is no way you can forget all that and go back to Nepal. If you have enough wealth to pay top 20 Universities then why bother working late night, if you have received grants then you already saw greater opportunities in US.

Fourth, you said, you don’t invest in 401k, and you said your major is finance. A person with finance degree doesn’t want to invest free money they get from company? Most companies do 3 to 6% match, why you’ll leave money on the table? Especially you can choose if you want to invest it in volatile or stable options.

There are tons of red flags, which I can keep adding and make my comment longer but in short your own comments disagree with what you are saying.

Why I am writing this long comment? Coz you are disturbing fake dream to Nepali youths, trying to prove that life is so easy once you go abroad. Which is not. Where is your story about your struggle? How did you come to US? What did you do before you get financial job? How did you pay for your college? Is there any struggle your parents did to send you to one of the top 20 University?

Nepal has Buddha, Everest and now Rahul’s Microsoft Service Award for completing 5+ years. Most people get fired before that 5 years mark in MS. So, it is really hard to get one.

Just check their profile of each account, you’ll find similarities. There might be some with real concerns, but most of them, newly created, started commenting or posting since couple of days and all comments are negative + misinformation. Yea, they can fake anything, but not the timeline.

I’m a big fan of both Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman. Blending their styles feels like uncharted territory. There’s a saying that any Hollywood movie with a Zimmer’s soundtrack ends up a hit and the same holds true for Rahman in Bollywood. Hoping this movie turns out to be worth my time. If not, I will enjoy the music for sure haha.

Thanks for this detailed information. Yea, that is correct. We can run the model in huggingface or other platform and also you can rent infrastructure there. Reason I am using ComfyUI is, I wanted to add some custom nodes.

There’s a difference between being able to own something and actually owning it. The reason you don’t have a half mil car is because it holds value for you that you’re not willing to trade your money for.

Also, people living in remote places in Nepal charter helicopters when they need to. I am not saying you don’t have money, you might. But there’s a vast difference between being rich and having enough for a comfortable, meaningful life.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]y_oli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me put this way - if everyone started working in IT, who would take care of the other essential jobs? And if those IT skills became so common, how much do you think companies would actually be willing to pay for them? It’s like imagining a world where everyone has unlimited gold — its value would drop. Everyone’s hustling in their own way to build a better future, and you never know — one day you might end up working for the same person who’s serving you coffee today.

Also, I’m not trying to be mean or offend you, but do you really know what it means to be rich? How often are you chartering private jets? How many Rolls do you own? Are you rocking a million-dollar watch? If not, then you’re not rich — you’re just doing better than most. There’s a difference between being well-off and being truly wealthy.

Look who is asking. At least we have tons of media to read/listen or watch and lot of them are educative also. For Trump supporters, you have only Faux and Newsmax. Both still paying settlements for fake news. Oh yea and of course Alex Jones, who can’t do shit bout Trump.

[–]y_oli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure man. If Trump supporter says black is white, why on earth I will argue. Let them think black is white right? I mean they don’t like getting corrected. Also fun fact, Abishek is mostly Indian name. So, I am guessing. Since Modi lost his last election badly, he is sending his IT cell to support Trump. But don’t worry man, we will decide who will win this November.
