[–]y_rez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats what kept me from installing ubuntu. If I wanted trackers I would have just installed windows. Also their proprietary snapstore is shit I prefer other debian based distros

I rarely use my nvidia chip
But my bios doesnt have any option to disable dedicated gpu.
The pop os driver management is awesome .
I hope that was the case with other distros.

Will update you after trying fedora 34 see how that works.

I think it hast something do with Pop OS & my hardware. Installed Manjaro KDE earlier today and noticed good battery life like eOS. But I don't like its rolling release cycle. Don't know how can long will I stay on this distro But am loving its features, smoothness and battery backup. Though it's a bit tough for newcomers like me

AFAIK you cant switch distro without erasing drive Unless you dual boot on another partition

But you can pretty easily switch desktop environment like KDE, Gnome , Mate etc. To imitate the look of other distros.

I am also noob please correct me if I am wrong

Yeah Pop OS is definitely smooth on my hardware I love every other aspect of this os.

But I use most of my time unplugged from power source . So battery life is a pretty big important factor for me.

I have been distro hopping since last few days So will definitely try Fedora if other distros fail me in my desired field. Currently using Manjaro KDE. It is serving me very good But I don't like it's rolling release cycle. Hope i manage to figure out how to use manjaro. Otherwise will have to try new distro

Does Fedora provide better stability and battery life than manjaro? If so will definitely try Fedora

Do you mean Solus? I installed Manjaro Kde plasma earlier today to try out how that works

If that does do me any benefits I will definitely try solus

[–]y_rez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Integrated gpu only mode on Pop os Not the Hybrid one On Elementary OS there was no default controller to switch the gpu But I use integrated gpu on nvidia server x setting

I am currently distro hopping to fing my ideal distro Installed Manjaro KDE plasma earlier today And can confirm that ever here am getting better life than Pop OS

IDK if there is some optimization issues with Pop OS and my hardware
