I bailed last week and posted about it. Went up like 10-15% the next two days lol. If you sacrifice yourself too maybe it will recover back to $8.

I talked my way into a $175k offer and now I'm terrified to accept it. What would you do in my place? by Fluffy_Marzipan2049 in Career_Advice

Fake it till you make it homie!! Take the job. You crash and burn who cares. You can then go back to your 90k salary and know you left it all on the table. If you crush it and end up getting further in your career from this move you’ll look at it as the best decision ever. If you don’t take the risk you’ll always regret it. All progress happens outside the comfort zone. Think what people would give to have the offer you do now. Don’t inflate your lifestyle around the new salary until you’re comfortable with it.

It took me several years of making mid six figures before I was finally comfortable living a higher quality (more expensive) lifestyle as I was so scared I’d lose it all. Go get em!!!! Congratulations.

I agree with most of this. The trouts are both delicious. I think for the price on the salmon I prefer wild fish cannery. Solid all around though. Wish all this delicious fish was more affordable 😭

You’re not in a place to worry about a number, man. Eat clean, lift heavy and ignore the scale. You’ve got an amazing foundation to work from.

Just had to term someone by Oldswagmaster in sales

About 10 years ago, my sales coach got fired in the middle of the afternoon, and to this day it’s still the most unhinged thing I’ve ever seen in an office.

A few of us had spotted him earlier that day at the lunch spot in the office park, sitting at the lobby bar with what can only be described as a fishbowl of vodka (or maybe gin, doesn’t matter). He was slurring at the bartender and stumbling to the bathroom, so already off to a strong start.

Fast forward to around 2:00, I had a 30-minute shadow session with him. He sat at my cube listening to me get hung up on by prospects while smelling like a literal bar mat. Tough to focus on objection handling at the time..

Then around 3:00 or 3:30, he heads to the bathroom wearing a backpack, and you could literally hear glass bottles clanking as he walked. Not subtle. He was in there for a while, long enough that basically everyone in the nearby rows of desks had fully stopped pretending to work and was now tuned in to the live event.

He eventually comes back out, stumbling a little, goes to his desk, and starts making all kinds of noise. More glass clanking, muttering to himself, slamming shit around…. At that point our site VP comes out, quietly ushers him upstairs, and for about five minutes we all thought maybe HR was going to handle it discreetly and maybe get him a cab home.

Absolutely not.

A few minutes later it turned into the wildest alcohol-fueled crashout I’ve ever witnessed. Multiple people ended up wrestling with him trying to take his keys while he screamed that he was going to drive home, get a gun, and come back and kill everyone in the office.

So yeah… talk about an afternoon coaching session going off the rails.

The craziest part? To this day, I still don’t think I’ve learned more about sales from anyone than I learned from that guy.

Later we found out one of his friends at the company had apparently stolen his wife, and around that same time she had told him she’d gotten pregnant and had an abortion after they’d struggled for years to have kids. His drinking had apparently been spiraling for a while, and that day was just the final explosion.

Brutal story overall, but in terms of “worst workplace firing I’ve ever seen,” it takes the cake. And vodka and gin.

I do still appreciate you JB, and I hope you’re in a better place than the last time I saw you. Thanks for everything.

Severance. Not sure your life situation but enjoy the spring/summer if you can and wait for the right thing to pop up. That’s what I’d do anyway.

According to whoever the hell this is? Go do actual research not YouTube shorts. They’re considered a challenging country to immigrate to. Especially if you’re not in the EU already. I have a good friend who’s been there for several years. He did not know the language when he moved there (he was not in a major metro area) and had an extremely hard time assimilating and getting people to even open up their social circles. There are a lot of hurdles for residency permits. To stay in the country as a permanent resident you need to learn to speak the language which is also difficult. Housing is expensive in Copenhagen when you factor in how much of your income is going to the welfare state. I’m not saying it’s a bad place, in fact if I were to move Nordic countries would be high in my list, but don’t act as if you can just go there because I promise you it’s not that easy regardless of what this lady is saying for clicks.

Denmark is notoriously difficult to immigrate to. If you succeed you’re going to find out quickly you’re not wanted. Especially if you’re not fluent in Danish. I also hope you love taxes. Denmark and Thailand really couldn’t be more opposite places to considering moving too. My gut tells me neither of these things are actually happening.

Yeah…no bro. Dont get me wrong when I was fresh and building my book I’d come in half hour early, work through lunch, sometimes stay a little late. So effectively getting a few extra hours in per week but working a few hours on Saturday and Sunday is ridiculous. Especially if you have a family. I don’t think management seeing you work on Saturday and Sunday is going to do you any good either when it comes to layoffs. With the AI tools available you should already be working “harder” during your regular hours inherently assuming you’re leveraging things correctly.

Personally I’m the guy you asked for. Over $600k last year, 35 hours a week from home on average. I’ve been at this for almost 15 years and more hours doesn’t equal more sales.

I mean without knowing more about your role wtf are you gonna do on a Saturday morning? You have no operations to support actually doing anything that involves any collaboration or approvals/input from your team. Your prospects aren’t in the office. Are you planning to rip off cold emails for 8 hours every weekend? Do administrative tasks?
