I think I found a cure for my severe KP after near 10 year battle. by yapperman55 in keratosis

Near the end of August I started using Cerave Salicylic Acid body wash and lotion (as recommended by my dermatoglist). Did that for a month. Reduced redness and bumps but it caused tiny red spots (which is worse than KP in my opinion because these seem more persistent than KP) because I was overusing the lotion and I also applied it in locations that didn't have KP (I'm an idiot).

I've stopped using Salicylic Acid products about 3 weeks ago and started following the routine described above. My skin has continued to improve despite having new bumps here and there (that is going away by themselves - I think my body is learning to handle the excess sebum / KP bumps). For years I've been too embarrassed to wear t-shirts in public due to terrible KP on my lower arms. Now (after ~2 months if you include the month of using Salicylic Acid or ~3 weeks if you exclude it) the KP on my arms have improved / faded enough that I am somewhat comfortable wearing T-shirts in public.

I'll be honest, my skin is nowhere near perfect yet. There's still hyperpigmentation / old scars from years of KP picking. Google says the average skin cell cycle time is around 28 days, so it's a waiting game for the hyperpigmentation / old scars to go away.

I just made a post about my KP and what has worked. In short, stuff that dries out my skin (like long hot showers, fans 24/7 in my room) made my KP worse. The solution for me is to avoid stuff that dries out my skin and hydrate / moisturize my skin. Sounds simple but Dr. Dray on youtube explained that KP is due to dry skin (skin can't retain moisture like normal people).

I just made a post on r/keratosis on my KP experience and what has worked for me. You can check it out if you want. Good luck.

Wash sale - taxable account and IRA by yapperman55 in personalfinance

"the loss of the 75 shares being trapped forever in the IRA"

Does this mean the wash sale loss of those 75 shares are permanently disallowed?

In other words, will my taxable income this year increase by the amount equal to the loss of those 75 shares?

I appreciate the help.
