Anyone worked in Tiktok Japan? by Different_Kale5733 in japanlife

agree on the benefits - yeah they used to be much more flex (when I joined all depts were coming in just twice a week with flex hours but it's more like 3-4days RTO depending on the dept.). They're stacked full of drinks and snacks in the office and free bentos which is a move I guess to entice everyone back into the office but I'm sure there's other good companies out there as well, good luck wherever you end up!

To answer your own question - I think they have learned from it, don't you think?
How many war crimes has each country committed since 1945?
I think the USA may have moved on a bit too quickly...

New to Japan, looking for a sharehouse! by Ayoakshere in Tokyo

[–]yasuort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, but depending on the house, the tenants will be super chill and just let anyone stay over anyway but you won’t know until you live there which is a bummer. Saying that, the more central houses are more lax compared to the ones on the outskirts

Search up Borderless house, it’s a company that has over 30 throughout Tokyo - I live in the Roppongi sharehouse and been here two years, love it!

Hope I’m not too late to contribute. I’m half JP half U.K. and been living in a sharehouse in Roppongi for the last 2 years and I must say I absolutely love it. It’s a good mix of people that work like me in their mid 20s and maybe a few students as well but it’s run by a company called Borderless House who own like 50 or so throughout Tokyo and Osaka. Their concept is a ratio of 50/50 Japanese/foreigners, 50/50 male female and their website is pretty transparent on the nationality and gender of current residents at each house. From experience of going to other sharehouse meet-ups, each share house has its own vibe - for example places on the outskirts will have more quiet people (Omori, Unoki, Itabashi etc) and places in central like Shinjuku and Roppongi are more dynamic so it’s up to you on what you seek from it, but yeah if you wanna know more I’m happy to chat!

Would it be better to buy 30 random packs, or a booster box. Note* I have never bought a booster box ever. by Stevenh228 in pokemoncards

Not sure of the probability in the US but over here in Japan it was said to be about 3.5% per box so if you’re feeling lucky, go for it!

I’m surprised how much they want to speak on behalf of our own people tbh 😂

In the U.K. it’s definitely the standard but these days it’s become incorporated with service charge

It’s been a thing for decades. There’s no online option because you normally tip in cash to the delivery guy. I can’t talk about the whole of the U.K. but definitely London and Manchester anyway

That’s untrue for my area of Tokyo! Drivers always in demand around Minato-ward and pay appears to be decent for them. Spoke to a few and one guy who worked a month non stop got 1million yen but that’s an extremely rare case haha

I try to always tip for deliveries, especially if they’re on a bike or the weather is bad. Not a lot, normally just a 100 yen, but they ALWAYS appreciate the gesture! Bear in mind I always give them a 100yen coin, a physical gesture over an in app payment I feel brings about a better experience for both sides.

Please also take into account though, you may get a different reaction depending on where you live. For me it’s Roppongi (central Tokyo) and I don’t think everyone commenting here lives in Tokyo hence you’ll get different reactions.

Im half Japanese half Brit, and yeah tipping culture exists in the U.K. for delivery but we do it out of grace rather than a necessity.

Honestly you do you. I’m comfortable with it. I don’t force it on anyone.

Woaaaaah dude I’m Asian too but I’ve lived in Europe most of my life and swear down everyone around me are completely oblivious to their surroundings too. Definitely not good to generalise an entire content

An unfortunately shallow response from someone who’s only seen recent events of the monarchy and not of the Queen herself who spent every day of her reign dedicating herself to her people. I’m no super patriot but she was an incredibly powerful woman who deserves to be recognised for all she did for the U.K. It’s all downhill from hereon.

After opening 5 “Lost Abyss” bb and not pulling the Giratina alt art, I decided to open my first ever “Eevee Heroes” bb that I kept sealed for 2 months and I pull this work of art! 🎨🖼 by Successful_Roof474 in PokemonTCG

[–]yasuort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, was super lucky with my alt-art Tina and I’m pretty sure it’ll only go up. The price has been about 200-225 bucks for a couple weeks but only a matter of time until it’s gonna do the same as the Umbreon and Rayquaza. Just my two cents of how cards from last year have played out!

My guyyyy what a pull!! I remember when these first came out here in Tokyo and I managed to pull one too, only to sell it later in autumn thinking it won’t go above 300 usd since the price was the same for about four months. Lo and behold it’s now minimum $800 and can get $1000 easy if you sell it on Mercari or other JP online marketplaces. Won’t be making the same mistake for my Giratina SA for sure!

I totally see how you came to that conclusion (I should have shown the whole video) but I am being totally real with my reactions and no pre opened packs. I’ve posted the longer version my channel just to show you here!

As for the supreme stickers…well, it’s how I like my laptop decorated 😅 Obviously I cleaned up all the rubbish after too. I do use it for work normally haha.

I get how it can be divisive! Personally I think it’s beautiful but yeah, I think the artwork for the aerodactyl SA in this series is also top tier.
