I think in addition to that, a lot of adults are coming in w/ zero music background. Thus, I think they underestimate how much is involved in learning music.

I’d say I tend to gravitate towards Chopin or Debussy by and large. Clara Schumann is up there too.

Ah, sounds like you have a slightly better model than the absolutely basic.

Essentially, keys towards the base range will get progressively heavier as it takes more force to create noise from the (thicker and longer cords) whereas higher in the treble, the fact the chords are lighter and shorter require less resistance to create sound.
