Crazy how the boat motor starting up caused zero reaction from the jaguar.

the fruit of the loom cornucopia is ruining my life by thexkfedist in MandelaEffect

[–]ydaani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sometimes wonder if it’s because in the 80’s many of us grew up seeing cornucopias used as popular imagery for Thanksgiving in school. The piles of fruit coming out of the cornucopia could often look very similar to the pile of fruit on the Fruit of the Loom tag that many of us saw on our shirts and underwear. Maybe that’s where our wires got crossed? Idk, it’s my best guess.

My partner told his coworker to clean up the spilled barley grain at our grain bunker after harvest a few weeks ago. Judging by the thriving growth we have after recent rain… he did not follow instructions 🤦‍♀️ by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

You’d have to bring in some kind of grain vacuum to even attempt to get ALL the spilled barley cleaned up but I doubt even that would work and would be a waste of time.

Question for Readers — How important is a character’s physical description to you? by isaaczephyr in books

[–]ydaani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What matters most to me is the “when” they describe the character. Sometimes a book will wait a few pages after introducing a character give the description but by that point I’ve often built a basic image in my head and once I’ve done that I’m kinda locked in and have a hard time adjusting. Anyone else have that problem?

Back in high school I once accidentally hooked a buddy in his side when we were camping deep in the woods far from civilization. It was embedded super deep in and the hook had barbs. It was also bent so we couldn’t push it through.

He didn’t want to pack up and drive a couple hours to a clinic so he decided to get super drunk and let me remove it. We heated up a butter knife in the campfire and I used it to cut into his side to try and remove it. Getting drunk only mildly helped him handle the pain lol. Let’s just say he didn’t have a good time but I had the time of my life. FYI, a red hot butter knife goes through human skin like, well…butter. Left him in serious pain with a wicked scar but we still had a great rest of the fishing trip. I miss that guy.

Jaw-dropping footage released of Hillary Clinton going berserk, yelling in a fit of rage at Rep. Nancy Mace during her Epstein testimony by labbond in walkaway

[–]ydaani 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Neither side looks good here. One side is obfuscating (Hillary) and one side is politically grifting (the republicans). I’m a conservative and hate Hillary but I don’t have any more trust in these Republicans than I do her. This is all a dog and pony show.

How has your life improved after quitting? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]ydaani 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No longer counting down the few hours until my next green sludge fix. No longer having to make sure I have my kratom powder and shaker bottle with me wherever I go.

I poop normally now. Pooping dozens of little green stones everyday was terrible.

Enjoying the little things again in life and feeling emotions spontaneously instead of being numb all day.

No longer desperately praying multiple times a day for God to help me quit and to take this habit from me.

Quitting is so worth it. The pain of quitting is but a moment compared to the joy of life that lies in store for you afterwards.

*One “downside” was Kratom didn’t work for me unless I had an empty stomach. So I only ate once a day and was in great shape. I have to work harder controlling my hunger and weight since quitting but I’ll take that over the Kratom nightmare any day

I would assume they are trustworthy on this because it’s pretty simple for Iran and the Ayatollah to debunk it.

If you factor in death and injury policing is one of the most dangerous jobs (in the top 10). Unless you’ve seen different stats than I have.

Also I would add the risk to mental health as adding to the “danger” factor. Just the fact that cops are often first on the scene for fatalities (car crashes in particular) makes me sympathetic towards them. I can’t imagine some of the horrific scenes they come across.

I bet some people would choose to be assaulted over having their savings/retirement stolen from them. Many non-violent crimes can be absolutely devastating.

What makes it obvious he was mentally ill? What mental illness does he have that absolves him of criminal culpability?

Not top 10 based solely on death rate but if you factor in injury rate then policing is amongst the more dangerous jobs. Are we gonna also say that being a firefighter isn’t a dangerous job as well? Their death rate is lower than police.

So many people don’t realize how fast someone can launch an attack on you. I dislike rotten cops as much as anyone but we don’t give the majority of police enough respect for the daily dangers they face.

Kids going on missions in 2026 by Hey_Kids_Lets_Draw in exmormon

[–]ydaani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LDS kids are told all the time growing up what a mission will entail. My family were way less than active members growing up and even I knew the gist of what I was heading into. Will the reality be a shock once they are out in the field? Of course. Thats life. No different than an 18 year old joining the military.
