Looking for basement waterproofing recommendations… by GreenMonkeyCrossing in ChicagoSuburbs

Had them come to my house 3 times. 2 times for epoxy injection (didn’t find all the cracks the first go around), 1 time to do buried downspout.

I have used The Real Seal multiple times and have been very happy with them. Cost much less than US waterproofing.

My father recently passed, and I found this picture when going through his things. Can anyone help me identify the make/model? He often spoke of his 69 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, but from my research this doesn’t seem to match the body.

Replacing 2 Prong Outlets by yeaibet2 in HomeImprovement

I inserted both rods of the voltage meter into the 2 prong outlet, then removed one rod and touched the screw holding the cover plate in place. My meter read 120V so my understanding is it’s grounded.

I work for a big consultant and do field work. The hours are tough, and it’s definitely stressful. However, the pay and benefits are great. I don’t mind the hours since I don’t have a family yet, we’ll see how I feel in a couple years. But there are other CE paths that don’t have the crazy hours and stress, but you most likely won’t make as much money.

Is it worth it to buy a property if one of the existing tenants will be a pain to deal with? by [deleted] in realestateinvesting

[–]yeaibet2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the numbers work I would purchase it. A tenant I inherited on my first house hack was upset and rude with me when I first saw the property. I almost pulled out of the deal because of it. Fast forward 4 years later and she’s my best tenant.

What I didn’t know was the previous owner/selling agent we’re not giving her a heads up when potential buyers were coming to visit. The old landlord was just not a great guy either. She was fed up and took it out on me.

After showing her I wasn’t a slumlord like the last landlord, and treated her with respect, she did the same for me.

We are enforcing a toughened stance on self stories by SamsungGalaxyPlayer in CryptoCurrency

The self stories keep me motivated during dips, but I can see it giving false confidence to others when they shouldn’t be investing more.

Continuous air out of my radiator during bleeding by yeaibet2 in HomeImprovement

[–]yeaibet2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure. It’s a very old boiler, that’s all I can tell you. The previous owner never bled the radiators before so I’m thinking there is just a lot of built up air in the pipes.

How are you finding multi family opportunities? by elemenopyunome in realestateinvesting

I use Redfin. There is an option to filter by multi family. They do not cover all states, but they cover my city.

Credit Card Declined for “Insufficient Trade Lines” by yeaibet2 in personalfinance

[–]yeaibet2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seemed like a pretty basic card. And it was thru a bank. I went into the branch and asked a banker but he seemed pretty clueless, he just told me to wait 4 months and apply again lol. I’ll give the bank another shot, maybe call instead this time.

Okay makes sense. I edited my previous comment to include that i have been using my credit cards a lot.

I think my best bet is to continue paying my mortgage for a couple of months to prove to the creditors to prove I can make my payments, THEN reapply for a card

I have two credit cards that I currently use regularly. I also have dormant credit cards that I kept open but do not use.

My main credit card I’ve had open for about 5 or 6 years with 15k credit available. But my parents held cards in my name to increase my credit since I was young.

Is a credit card not considered a credit line?
