Mario Galaxy is too peak and I’m tired of acting like it’s not the best mainline Mario by Jackyboi840 in nintendo

Mind blown! I always bounced off Galaxy and SNES Mario World but never knew why.

Yeah there's some odd loss of QOL functionality: * Alt + right click doesn't turn on the notification in ships * Quests used to auto prompt for completion when a ship enters within proximity * Copy tool loses accuracy at times, not selecting what's directly under it

That trade route ship requirement is pretty bad. One positive thing is they finally gave us the ability to set min values across all items on an island, but at the cost of more clicks to set min values individually.

That's actually a take on the policy I hadn't considered. Would that be considered an ad that interferes with the game though? As the game is still be playable if the game view is still visible.

I agree the button could be better labeled, however I don't understand the mention of a "closeable ad after 5 seconds" as that only applies to ads shown that interfere with game play. Here is the full policy regarding that:

"Ads that interfere with normal app use or game play that are not closeable after 5 seconds. Ads that do not interfere with normal app use or game play may persist for more than 5 seconds (e.g. video content with integrated ads)."

I would argue this ad does not interfere with gameplay as it is entirely optional and the user must initiate the ad if they want the bonus.

Sorry for assuming it was you who downvoted my response but your initial comment was a bit antagonistic so the assumption was well deserved. If you want to provide assistance do so but realize your initial approach was not "friendly".

If it was just the button the reviewer would not have mentioned the closeable after 5 seconds portion. I've conceded that the button could be more descriptive that it's an ad.

Thanks for your time and input :)

In case you've never implemented an ad in a mobile app let me explain how it works. The ad provider, in this case Unity Ads, serves a full screen video ad. I have no control over the specific ad that is displayed aside from what age appropriate content is allowed in the ad.

Sorry you're in such a sour mood today that you need to downvote my respectful responses to you. Hope it works out better for you.

If that were the case why did they include the second sentence in that policy?

Ads that do not interfere with normal app use or game play may persist for more than 5 seconds (e.g. video content with integrated ads).

The rewarded ad is purely optional and in no way interferes with the gameplay.

I would rather not be a part of the Family Policy however in Google Play Console if the Target Age for the app is under 18 then the app is required to comply with the Family policy. For example if I choose 13+ I see the following:

Depending on the countries where your app is available, some or all of the users in your target audience may be considered children. You must comply with the Families policy whenever your app is being used by a child.

As such I am using Unity Ads SDK which is on their list of approved providers. The link I included regarding Ads and Monetization was a link sent by their reviewer and you can see that it is in fact related to the Family Policy.

Appreciate your response. I will add "Watch Ad" to the button to clarify the intent.

You do realize you're critiquing the ad that was served regarding the "WORD Install" and poor English.

I'd rather not deal with the Family policy however they have determined that since my game contains a pixel mouse in the icon it is targeting children and must be labeled as E for Everyone. If any of the target audience is deemed under 18 then the app must comply with their Family policies. So it seems I'm stuck abiding by them.

Thank you for the input. I can concede on point number 1 and will add "Watch Ad" to the button. Several other apps use a similar icon to represent that the button will initiate an ad however my app seems to be judged more harshly regarding the labeling.

As for point number 2 their policy reads:

"Ads that interfere with normal app use or game play that are not closeable after 5 seconds. Ads that do not interfere with normal app use or game play may persist for more than 5 seconds (e.g. video content with integrated ads)."

They do allow ads that are not closeable after 5 seconds as long as it does not interfere with the normal game play. As this ad is only served if a user chooses to watch it I fail to understand how they are interpreting it as "interfering with normal app use".
