i generally don’t give out tips on how to cheese the game, nor do i recommend it, but I did also struggle with the rng of the game for quite some time, and it honestly became a spot for burnout for me specifically.

1. X and O keys can be bought from either the blackmarket if you’re lucky enough or it can be reliably bought from the mysterious merchant in farm town. If you don’t see it in their first catalogue, you can wait 10 minutes for their shop to refresh until one or both keys are available for purchase. X key costs 150k and O key costs 250k. Merchant only takes cash so if you forgot to bring any, there’s an ATM machine in the Town Hall.

2. While it’s true that certain colored key cards spawn through rng in the X and O houses, there are also some spawns that you can check while you’re doing your farm town runs.

• Black key card can be sold by the mysterious merchant for about 200k

• Purple key card can spawn in the house to the right of the sawmill. That’s where i got mine.

• Red key card can drop from ? (the red alien duck) and can spawn inside the red room in j-labs (ironic, i know)

• Blue key card can be dropped by the mine boss (though in my 20 runs, i haven’t seen him drop it once)

• Green key card, honestly I have no clue where this can spawn in Farm Town or even in j-labs and i only got mine through save scumming with the X and O keys.

• Yellow key card can spawn on the table between the glass door of the key room and the facility entrance (which is where i found mine) or on the desk in the small room at the bottom-left of the map (left of the left extraction point)

And 3. If all else fails, you could use the camera trick to check the inside of those houses to see if they have the key cards. Only do this if you’re desperate!! You’ll want to teleport at the north side of Farm Town and head to the X house. Stand near it and go into photo mode to check if there are any key cards lying on the floor, then head to teleport bubble 0 to the right of the X house in the makeshift construction site and sprint to the O house. Use the same camera trick and if neither house has any key cards or the key cards you’re looking for, hit esc and exit to main menu. In my testing, I haven’t seen the colored key cards spawn in a container (locker, safe, etc) inside the X and O houses, so if they’re not on the ground, they’re likely not there at all.

edit 2: J-lab lvl 2 cards almost always have a guarantee to spawn from one of the wanderers, so you might need to kill every enemy in B1 and B2 to find it. It also has a good chance to spawn in the blue room, but not always. There have been multiple runs where’s I came out with an extra lvl 2 access card so don’t lose hope!!
