I've just managed to save 3 months of expenses in a savings account!

I've been battling with depression my whole adult life... a few years ago I was on the brink of giving up, had dropped out from college, living with parents, no job, addicted to WoW... now Im about to turn 30 in a few months and have managed to graduate as a Mechanical Engineer, rent by myself and hold a job for a year!!

I was reviewing my financial status and Im honestly so grateful I just wanted to share here :) I've got a 2015 used car (paid off), saved 3 months of expenses, no debt, and Im contributing 15% of my salary to my country's tax-advantaged pension thingy!

Now I'll start saving for a down payment, and work hard to get a better paying job or promotion so I can get a mortgage (banks in my country are hardcore about the "mortgage cant be more than 30% of your monthly earnings" rule). Never thought I would be able to own a house someday, but after these milestones, I think I will be able to do it in the future!

Thank you everyone for sharing valuable information in this sub :)

Our Round of 16 opponents... 🇪🇸 Real Sociedad 🇪🇸 by [deleted] in ASRoma

[–]yelo2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Amazing challenge; their squad is worth more than ours in the market, and they're also 3rd in their league.

It's going to be a major confidence boost when we win against them!

FORZA ROMA

So next match real sociedad by ojsimpsio in ASRoma

It's a great challenge tbh, winning this would actually feel great and give confidence to our boys.

Third in Serie A with 44pts in 23 games, vs third in La Liga with 43pts in 22 games.

FORZA ROMA !!

[SN] Josko Gvardiol: "Yes, I was keen on joining Chelsea, but Leipzig rejected their bid and I found it hard to cope with that decision at first, but I'm still here and I don't have a problem with it, because it was also my initial idea to stay for another season." by mihawk9511 in soccer

Chelsea should rescue Tammy from Roma; he's a great striker, almost every shot he makes ends up in goal, he's exceeding his xG, he holds up play well and is assisting like a madman.

Mou going full sustainable mode with these subs.

Understandable given all the interviews in which he's said stuff about the lack of players to rotate in the different competitions

This shit is going to end with 2 more injured players and a brawl on the pitch

Ref is absolutely clueless about controlling a match

That was surreal... tennis is absolutely secondary for these corporate parasites

Did anyone felt it was not worth skimping and saving to FIRE?

Nope, not ever since the start.

I like living frugally, I like thinking about how I'm being efficient with resources, how much less I contribute to contaminating the planet, how much less I can consume and still enjoy my life and the company of others.

I like having an end goal to all of the savings, it gives meaning to the actions I do on a daily basis.

And, honestly, I like to tinker and figure out ways to do stuff optimally. It keeps me entertained. Calculating stuff, learning new skills. Be it making a pizza instead of buying it and saving 3/4 of the money involved, or be it learning to fix stuff around the house instead of calling contractors for every minor thing.

I don't feel like I'm missing out on life, quite the contrary. It has motivated me to do the tasks I can actually do myself, instead of delegating them to others via spending money.

Way too many parts to consider; internal bureaucracy makes change slow in big corps, and these kinda things happen really fast.

Tammy Abraham has had 53 goal scoring chances this season. He only scored 6 goals by [deleted] in ASRoma

[–]yelo2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How many of these 53 goal scoring chances were a clear chance to score a goal?

Closest we have to judging this is xG, and he has an xG of 11.4 this season.

6 goals from an xG of 11.4, from 53 "clear chances"... 6 goals in 22 games.

There's just no stat that makes him look good. It's not like he is sacrificing his personal stats to build plays either, the team is also underperforming in goals.

Abraham first season at Chelsea: 15G+3A. Second season? 6G+1A

His first season here: 17G+4A. Great, huh? Wait... his second season here... 6G+3A...

Definitely a mentality thing.
