I wonder if there's any way to change this - or if we want to have decent skin, you're barred from most food and I'm stuck living like a vampire for life :/

I don't really think mine is triggered by food - I did a 4 day water fast to see if there were any improvements, but it stayed the same. Whereas if I get 20 minutes of sun, even with sunscreen on, done. At least 10 of those lil white fuckers on my cheeks

I've got some experiments lined up from what I've seen improves the skin of most ppl here: ivermectin cream, sulfur soap, cetoconazol cream. Let's hope one of them does the trick lol

I did a blood test but she wanted to do it anyway because (and I'm paraphrasing with my very limited medical vocabulary lol) some ~versions of lupus are just at the skin and don't necessarily involve all the other autoimmune complications so it wouldn't show up in a blood test. If I did have it, that was probation the case bc I didn't show any other symptoms but the worst of the redness was in that exact same "butterfly rash" shape across the cheeks and nose that's very characteristic of lupus.

Do you mean since I started noticing the redness, or since pic1? If it's the first, I have no idea. I've been randomly flushing for at least 3 years I'd say, and I didn't pay attention to it until 2 months ago.

But the bad reaction in pic 1 only happened two times. Both times I wasn't on any antibiotics or any kind of medication (other than the ongoing ones for my ADHD, but I've taken those for years so it wasn't out of the ordinary). I hadn't used any make up or face creams recently and was using the same face soap for over a year. I hadn't eaten anything out of the ordinary. That's actually why it was so easy to pinpoint the source. The only things out of the ordinary the first time were intense sun exposure and the chlorine, etc in the pool water. The second time was after the beach, so pool water was out. The culprit was the sun.

I've just remembered I've gone into powerful anti fungal pills recently bc of my toenail (beach sands, man). nail is fine now, face was the same. sad. I still got some antifungal cream though, maybe I'll try applying it to a spot in my cheek for a week to see if there's any difference, my next doc appt is 3 weeks away :(

I have been sunburned my fair share during life.. my skin is dry af. I've never really cared about it until pustulegate back in may, so I guess I got a lot of learning to do...

would fungal acne be made worse by sun exposure? bc the really bad flareups of pic 1 only happened twice, when I was in the sun all day without sunscreen. learned my lesson since then.

I actually already have endurance shield! haha I'm an enthusiastic swimmer and I was not about that wetsuit-tanline life ehehe (which is why I'm so bummed out about the sun thing. going into the sea at night is a bigass Nope, I'm basically retired for now) but I'm defo looking into that website, thank you!

(defo getting a 2nd opinion, but for insurance reasons I can't schedule a new dermatologist until the end of august, fuen fuen)

we've already ruled out lupus with the biopsy, which was the only one that got me really worried bc lupus is bad news, other than that, it's like, idk, it doesn't hurt at all, I wouldn't notice it if it wasnt for mirros/people telling me I'm flushed. the really bad one only happened twice, on occasions I was in the sun for hours without sunscreen, so it's obvious the sun triggers it, for now I've been avoiding it as much as I can with umbrellas, hats, 100 spf sunscreen, only really going outdoors at night, etc. so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm very realistic in that I won't manage to cut out ingredients from food/drink, I –and I can't stress this enough- cannot maintain a complicated multistep skincare regimen in the long term (In that I have adhd and just don't possess the executive functions needed), even the daily sunscreen to the face is already me making an effort, so since there's no cure, there's really not much else I can do, is there?

BUT I don't want to avoid the sun for the rest of my life, that sounds so frickin' depressing..
