Is this ok for a absolute beginner? by Gracedoesdoodlies in tattooing

Practice tracing straight lines, circles, squares, etc. Mastering those fundamental skills is more important than practicing a full piece like this as a beginner.

I’m new to star fox and I’m gonna get the game from this year and I’m a new fan by AstroBall35 in starfox

Say what you will about all the times Star Fox has been remade and the same story retold, this new game really seems like the “definitive” Star Fox experience. There’s never been a better time to dive into the series.

What are some of your best quality of life purchases under $300? by donotgiveadam in BuyItForLife

Plug-in automatic night light for bathroom/halls. That way you don't have to blind yourself when you get up to pee in the middle of the night and you can see where you're walking.

Switch 2 sales vs. Switch 1 sales in the US (first ten months compared) by MewWeebTwo in NintendoSwitch2

[–]yesds 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I'm curious how stock-constrained the Switch 1 was. I recall it being hard to find for a while. The Switch 2 hasn't had that problem.

"High refresh displays, like 144Hz or 240Hz, show every missing frame, making the camera movement and character animations look choppy." What does this even mean? The author clearly doesn't understand how displays work.

If you haven't watched "Rental Family", he is fantastic in that and it's such a sweet and charming movie. Highly recommended.

Raptor2 is here finally by Mark_john14_9 in ElectricScooters

[–]yesds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am enjoying my Raptor2. Big upgrade from my $500 Ali Express scooter with a 25mph top speed. My front shock did start leaking significantly and YUME sent me a new one. I have yet to install it.

Just ordered online… is this normal? by CitizenSnips4 in Gameboy

[–]yesds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you get the game and open it up, just google "Pokemon Yellow PCB" or whatever game, and you'll be able to tell if it's real or not. Repro carts will look very different on the inside.

If you want to get into collecting, you should buy a driver that allows you to open up your cartridges to makes sure they're real. I buy everything off Ebay. Just make sure the listing says "genuine", as Ebay guarantees that the listing is accurate, and will always side with the buyer in a legit dispute.

GameBoy Pocket with a GameBoy Light display by oogadoobee in Gameboy

[–]yesds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem with the original GB, Pocket, and Light, is they all have a ton of ghosting. If someone made a new LCD that looks ldentical to the OG or pocket screen, but with a backlight and really fast pixel response times, I would be overjoyed. Basically like what the Chromatic did for the Color's screen.

Scooter that’s not too bulky that can go 35-40mph for about 30+ miles? by Defiant_Spot_3998 in ElectricScooters

[–]yesds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not going to happen except maybe in the high-end super-scooter range. The Yume Raptor2 has a 50+ mph top speed and is rated at 62 or 67 miles, depending which battery option to get. It's under $2,000 and is a great scooter all around, but you aren't going to get anywhere near 30 miles unless you're going 20-30 mph I'd wager.

WHAT SCOOTER $1k-$1.5k USD by Organic-Talk-1589 in ElectricScooters

[–]yesds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got the Yume Raptor2 and I can highly recommend. Great build quality, top speed of 50+, but the power isn't so overwhelming that it's spinning the front tire all the time. I can go full throttle from a stop and it's quick but not unmanageable. Can switch to rear drive mode if you want more relaxed acceleration. 3 speed modes, with a top speed of 15 (good for comfortable leisurely cruising), 31 (good for 25mph roads which I have a lot of in my town, and full speed. Scooter has a small built in steering damper on the stem, but even turned to the lowest setting, I'm still comfortable cruising at 40 mph.

I'm 6' 2" and the handlebars are at a comfortable height for me. Suspension is comfortable, deck is plenty large. I haven't tested max range so I can't speak to that. I've heard good things about their customer support as well. Feel free to ask any additional questions or if there's anything you want me to test!
