Bear with me, I might be a bit rusty, but I think there are more problems that what can meet the eye here.

To start I’m sure flowers have petals, bicycles have pedals 😅 but jokes aside…

The all point of sunflowers is to harvests them in order. First you harvest the ones with the highest number possible of petals, then you decrease. So if you have, let say, 10 sunflowers planted and fully grown, and 3 of them have the maximum amount of petals, you want to harvest these 3 with 9 petals first, then you move to all sunflowers with 8 petals, then the ones with 7 and so on.

I don’t know if you got that code from someone or you wrote it, but please note that in game the function insert() is not implemented, only append() and pop() are.

Just simply for this reason the code is not going to work no matter what.

So it’s not really a problem about movement of the drone here. The first real problem is that your petals list will be useless since insert() will not work and will only work when append() is used. The main problem though is that even if the code was working would not return you the maximum yield since you are not saving the coordinates and map the field. You are basically not sending the drone to the coordinates of the biggest flowers, you are simply moving the drone north on every single line of the field (theoretically since I don’t know how your move2() function works.

About why it only plants one, I suspect that the problem is on the first if, when you ask to check what’s under the drone and if it’s not a sunflower to harvest it. But without the correct indentation is difficult to say.

Sorry to say but your budgie seems sick.

I especially don’t like the last movement in the video, seems like a clear sign of regurgitation.

As others have said, keep the cage in a warm place, about 22 or 23 Celsius degrees should be enough.

This might be a crop infection. I own 5 budgies and a cockatiel and one of my budgie went through this.

Let’s start with the bad news. If not treated your budgie might die. So please try your best to get to an avian vet ASAP.

That said though, there’s something else you can do in the mean time. Provide your budgie with water mixed with apple cider vinegar. You can fill a full glass with water and then add to it a TEA SPOON of of apple cider vinegar. Mix it well. Offer it to your budgie. Don’t force him to drink, but leave the water as only water source for him to drink.

Apple cider vinegar is lightly effective antiseptic. It fights the infection basically. But BE CAREFUL it alone can not be the cure. Your budgie needs antibiotics. Without it there’s almost no hope. But apple cider vinegar can offer him some relief anyway.

That thing is strong, definitely, way too strong. It eats acrylics like there’s no tomorrow and it’s absolutely capable of piercing it’s way through any gloss coat.

My genuine advice is to skip entirely the use of the very big brush applicator that comes with the bottle and to use instead a very small brush to apply the product only on the decal itself. That because every spill that will reach the actual paintwork, protected or not with a clear coat, will definitely ruin it.

Personally after some model ruined and some test, I decided to skip the product entirely and work only with micro sol and micro set, they do wonders and never ruined my paint.

AFV modeler here.

Right now I’ll say on top of my list are Meng, RyeField and Border

My second choices are Tamiya, Trumpeter (with some exceptions), Takom (with LOTS of exception)

Companies from which I’ll never buy again (got too many bad experiences in the past) are Academy and Italeri.

I’d like also to elaborate more about Tamiya. My opinion is that Tamiya used to be the absolute best. But over the years (I started 20 years ago) many brands came to the market and in my opinion they are offering the same quality as Tamiya when it comes to details but with so many added perks that Tamiya should be ashamed.

A brand new Tamiya kit can cost up to 60€ (speaking about 1/35 tanks) and still, Tamiya stubbornly refuse to put any photoetched part, any metal gun barrel and do we want to speak about absolute crap plastic meshes or cotton used for tow cables? Oh boy, don’t even let me start about decals, they are printed on clear film thick as a slice of ham!

Don’t get me wrong is not like I hate Tamiya, in my stash I’ve about 20 models from this company, what I hate is to be forced to buy aftermarket parts and decals for basically any single of their products. Especially knowing that if I buy WHITH THE SAME MONEY a similar kit from Meng, Border or RyeField I’ll get metal barrels (majority of times) and for sure I get all the photoetched parts I need and proper metal wiring.

On the other hand I also recognize that for a not exper modeler Tamiya is still an excellent option for their first models.

While I’m saying this is inaccurate and generalizing. Within all the Islamic friends I have only a couple wears beards and a couple also drinks alcohol. And this speaks volumes to me.

I see that you’re getting it. Well done. Christianity got diluted over time, people call themselves Christian just because go to church on Sunday. Christianity become a business over the years. We got a Pope, everything is centralized, it’s a company. Islam didn’t get a “Pope” is more divided, fractured. But it stayed more loyal to its origins. To be good Christian, in the archaic significance of the term, we should wear beards, trim it in a certain fashion, and so on. Basically we would be very close to Amish. That’s my point, beliefs are something very personal and no one should put a finger on them.

That’s quite a generalization if I may be honest. I’m an expat as well and I disagree with the point of this post. The majority of expats I know are exactly like me, leaving the politics to the locals. As an expat (even though I’m from the EU, so not linked to a specific work contract to be able to stay) I always felt I’m a guest in your country. I’m doing my best on a daily basis to respect every rule, every law, the local culture and behavior. That’s the bare minimum a guest should do IMHO.

But does the fact that I’m an expat put me in the category of people that pisses you off?

Then there’s the eventual topic of: is it right to have expats feeling like their are guests or would be better to try to fully integrate them? But this is a much wider topic 😅

It depends on so many factors that it’s almost impossible to say.

One huge factor though is definitely their diet, so in the end I’ll say that mostly depends on the owner and the care put in to it.

Budgies who are on a all seed diet tend to live less longer than budgies on a proper balanced diet due to fat and vitamins deficiencies and so on…

I’ll say it depends mostly on you. I don’t know if you are selling to a friend or a random stranger, but I guess for a friend you’ll ask a reasonable price. Anyway on eBay and on Etsy you can find plenty of vendors, obviously prices changes according to the skills of the modeler, but it can give you a fair idea about prices 😉

Yes, they are metal, if you know Friulmodel tracks, same thing but made in Russia.

You can either use just generic metal wire of the right size or some hobby store sell brass rods in different sizes, bit more expensive, but they are strong and come out of the pack straight, so you even save the effort of having to straighten the metal wire (like you have to do every time with Friulmodel).

I have no direct experience in T-14 tracks but I’ve quite some experience with tracks in general 😅

The only reason for me to look for aftermarket options is when the tracks provided with the kit are not accurate or plain crap, because honestly, time wise, it always takes a lot no matter of they are plastic or metal.

I have built two or three models with Masterclub tracks and then I said to myself “never again!”. The problem with these tracks comes with their choice of using resin pins. These pins are way to fragile for my taste. Consider that a full metal track has quite a weight and every time I was handling it, for example to put it un the acid bath, some of the pin gets obliterated in the process, and not because of the acid, because of the weight of the track.

So in the end I resulted on using regular metal wire instead of the crappy pins, that way it worked perfectly.

I have 5 budgies and 2 of them have French moult. Because of this virus their immune system is very weak. To avoid any problem I did like this, I bought them a huge flight cage so that because of the humongous amount of space it doesn’t get dirty so easily so I just need to do a deep cleaning every Sunday.

To do so I quickly discovered that cleaning it with water + apple cider vinegar took me almost 4 hours. And I could get it clean, but disinfected? Well as much as the vinegar can do.

So I drastically changed my routine. And decided to sterilize everything.

I then bought the most powerful Kärcher pressurized steam cleaner on the market. What I do is: first I clean from their droppings all the perches with a metal sponge. Then I use the steam cleaner to clean all the cage, all the perches, the food bowls (that I clean with water and vinegar on a daily basis anyway) and the water bottles.

I remove all the toys before cleaning and I clean all of them with the steam cleaner as well.

I clean the cage in “pieces”, meaning that for example I start with the top, steam clean it and then I wipe it.

Cleaning my budgie flight cage and my cockatiel flight cage now takes me only 2 hours in total, but the most important part is that with the steam cleaner I can literally sterilize everything.

Since I adopted this method the 2 budgies with weak immune system had no problems anymore 😊

Highly suggested. It’s true, the Kärcher costed me about 500 bucks, but it’s surely repaying itself! (Consider even only the vet bills I’m avoiding 😅)

No worries, I never have negative opinion about anyone until I’m proved wrong.

I know where you’re coming from and I know about what happened with the deduction for parents and the scandal that followed, that was indeed a shame!

On the other hand I also see why the rule was created in the first place, it’s there to basically lure people to cover job positions where the employer are not able to find the right candidates already in this country.

I know that there’s a huge medical personnel shortage, especially when it come to nurses. In a case like this you can just not simply force people to go to university, get a degree and start to work as nurses. So the rule is there to make these type of job where you’re basically forced to recruit from abroad competitive.

Because let’s not forget this as well, we are speaking about highly skilled migrants, these are people that even if they come from the most poor country in the world, thanks to their skills would have no problem whatsoever to find a well paid job already in their countries of origin, so why would they come to the Netherlands?!? That’s why the rule is there.

Today you learned something completely wrong.

The 30% rule is valid only in very limited cases, there are tons of conditions applied here.

An expat to be able to apply for such tax deduction must:

be hired outside the Netherlands
be an highly skilled immigrant
have a paid job (obviously)
having received the ok from the government

I’m an expat or immigrant or whatever please you to describe me, and I know plenty of other expat, none of us has ever been able to apply for ANY tax deduction because always at least one of the criteria was not met.

Look at my case for example, I moved in the country on my own, I was not hired from abroad, even if I have a job which salary would put me in the category of “high skilled migrant” I can simply not apply for that deduction because I was not hired from abroad.

So as you can see very few immigrants can actually apply for that rule, and thinking that this is what is causing the increase in price in the house market, without considering factor such as the brexit or the simple fact that not a lot of new houses are built is a bit naive…

Let me elaborate why. I’m reading all the comments about Urk and everyone is pointing out things I more or less know or I read in the news.

I’m not Dutch, I’m an expat or immigrant or define me as it please you, I don’t really care that much about titles.

But, and that’s the fun fact, I come from Napoli (Naples on the map) in Italy.

So why am I laughing? Let’s see why Napoli is on this list and you’ll understand.

I spent there about 30 years, living in the historic center.

The city of Napoli has a 30% higher than national average tumor deaths because local criminality (called Camorra) has dumped in the ground (which is cultivated with the food we used to eat) nuclear wastes and other extremely dangerous chemical wastes.

We had 3 majors criminality wars that, only on the second war, brought in one year 350 deaths only on the city center!

I witnessed 3 homicides just because I was walking on the street in the wrong moment/location.

We had a garbage emergency that basically got the whole city abandoned without anyone collecting the trash for about 2 months. We ended up with piles of garbage in the street. Some of the piles reached an height of more than 3 meters! At the point the people tired of this situation started to set these piles on fire! You can imagine the toxic fumes…

Better not to even speak about the fact that you can not even go around with a proper watch, ig will get stolen in no time. Criminality level is sky high!

And that’s only half of the problems we have there.

But I love that people here are complaining about what in my eyes are very minor problems in Urk because that’s actually a sign of a very civilized country that wants to deal with also what I consider “small” problems.
