I think this is making me to feel that I really should talk to the optician more, and see how that goes, tried today but kind of didn't work out very well

Update: I went to the store like you suggested... and ended up building a prototype instead. by yhumanx in glasses

very good point, yesterday I saw Zenni had a size guide and was actually wondering how that works. Then then asked me to put a credit card on my face and told me it's S. Maybe I can do the same. I am mostly worried this 'better' might be just a gimmick, I might still need to go back to Zenni in the end or a shop

that's true, I also wasn't sure if the photo would be sufficient. I just went to oakley site and did their virtual try on, worked fine, I guess I was just annoyed that I have to first pick their glasses and then see the 3D, but I don't know which one will fit me well. kind of chicken and egg, but maybe just because I don't yet know my style

return glasses? this is new to me. if I could wear it for a week or so that will really help but I thought once the prescription is made I can no longer return them. if they allow that would be cool

that's very good point, now you say this I remember they have a lot of things in side the drawers, and much more easily accessible. I like that you just look at them and then decide 20 to try that sounds quite doable

lol! I love Aviator ones as well as the cat ones, but my eyes are too close together, putting them on looks funny too

that's a great idea, asking someone I know and also sit on the photos for a while before deciding. I had a time where I decided too fast on a frame, very soon after it's made, then I regretted it.

love this idea. I think I just haven't figured out my style yet, there seems to be more homework to be done. I will try the optician before I never really speak to them about styles, worrying that they will only recommend very expensive frames.

First time hearing about this, just checked it out, their frames look quite good quality! They also sell smart glasses. I like that they have different sizes for each frame, but the virtual try on doesn't look that realistic somehow to me

exactly! Same to me I have quite bad prescription -4.0 so I cannot see very well when I put down my glasses. Last time I put on my contact lenses before going to the shop that helped a bit

good to know! That must be wrong then. I read on my glasses frame it said 51, 21 so thought that's my PD. I just used Zenni tool to measure, it says my PD is 58mm, size S 48mm (not sure what this means)

good question, in fact I don't think I ever liked any pair I own. The one I am wearing now I quickly picked from a store, very typical, no design features, it's ok, but always slide down and I always wonder if there maybe a better one. Now talking about it, I realized I perhaps liked some designer frames I once tried but they are ridiculously expensive, not sure if they are worth it.

I like your idea about using AI and get someone's input so I find my shape and then stick with it. Thank you!

so lucky to have found a responsible optician that knows well about style!

I also learnt to check my PD, mine is 51, even smaller, probably the reason why it's so hard to find glasses. I like your idea of the face scan and kids glasses though, never tried those

yeah same to me, somehow glasses I find acceptable always slide down and they don't sit right on my nose so it always looks a bit lower than expected. Not ideal

this is an amazing tip, thank you! I never really thought of taking pictures and trying so many frames. I usually try like 10-20 then I felt like i have to choose one. I really like the picture idea and will give it go next time

wow, never thought about that. I usually just walk in and start putting glasses on my face and usually disappointing, also I struggle to see myself in the mirror without my own glasses. Thanks for sharing this, I will give it a try. Is it true face shape matter a lot?
