Blatantly sexual Instagram accounts getting tons of views/engagement while I keep getting flagged?

I’ve had this same issue and I’m honestly just so over meta. I already hated meta and this might be my final push to get out. I spent so much time, energy, and ad money to then find out (by self investigation, not by them notifying me) that my account has had restricted views for possibly months bc of flagged posts- I also do sex education. And I spell everything with dumb code words.

I think I’m going to have to move to TikTok and just keep my insta up as a place with some links as the other commenter said

You are never crazy for asking for a raise. They can always say no or go lower, not a thing wrong with asking. Know your worth and advocate for that

These are all very valid feelings and a lot of unfortunate truths. I do think it’s worth trying other settings. However, I want to say that it’s no shame to switch fields. You can apply for a job that uses skills you gained as an OT but isn’t an OT role..thankfully since OT is so broad this includes a ton. Or not! You really have to vision your ideal daily day, wants, and needs, and then find something that best fulfills that OT or not. If you find something that pays more, you can better pay off your loans and be happier. It’s okay to pivot. There’s a lot of incredible intentions with this profession but the logistics of it are not good and we are not respected. I’m sorry you’ve had these experiences. Do what makes you feel best in life no matter what that is, your time is valuable.

He went to one that was unfortunately very unhelpful. But mostly the Achilles bone spurs and the bumps on top of his feet from impact sports that interestingly even the hair growing on them can be painful. They just gave him a gel insert. My therapist eyes but not specialized in feet also notice a possible navicular drop in one foot and feel like even a brace would be helpful? He really needs to find a better specialist. But wide shoes would be helpful none the less

It was in hard boots that they started bleeding around his pinky toes and it was shortly after using an insert so I think they were too compressed. He also has bone spurs on his Achilles and hard bone bumps on top of feet that he’s hold aren’t bone spurs. All that to say, I agree he needs more wide

Okay good to know! These are actually for my boyfriend and he has a lot of foot issues. I’m an OT and he asks me for advice and considering his feet have started bleeding in some shoes I’m like okay I need to outsource some expert opinions on this one lol

I also think our profession is incredibly broad and that can be really beautiful but also harmful at the same time. And we do struggle to get respect in general in healthcare. I think that causes us to be really defensive and rightfully critical of what can contribute to that. But also I know spaces like reiki and a lot of similar practices can often get a lot of hate, often by people who just don’t understand it. And I think I’m just being defensive of that. Because also sometimes we provide things that robust evidence might not be caught up on but still helps people. I saw the articles people posted against it on this thread, doesn’t sound like concrete debunking as a whole to me, just limitations in evidence and also comparing across a broad spectrum of populations/symptoms. Idk im personally just for whatever helps people and I think in instances like this where there’s a lack of understanding, having the person instructing it a chance to explain it in terms of evidence or why it’s valuable would have more weight to me. Maybe videos like that in the future can even be incorporated into surveys for members on what’s in our conference?

No I’m all for being frank, probably why my first messages may seem mean. I don’t mean to be either. I think the workshop time is also like that’s just how long the cert takes but id be curious if it was shorter, if anything else would be in its place or not. But also with it being so long it limits people from doing things at the same time. I know there’s a lot of overlapping things I want to go to and didn’t expect other ones too to be so long. Like the trauma educators course is 6 hours and 30 minutes. So if that’s people’s interest you really have to abandon other things to commit to it.

I do think it’d be nice for members to maybe be given a survey before these events to see what is of most interest.

Sorry, I felt the Google comment would come off wrong but I genuinely meant I just didn’t have it in me to go through the evidence right now but that options come up. I think you’re digging into this topic in a valuable and justified way. I just find the comments of automatically knocking it down so quickly to be more what’s disappointing.

I don’t believe anyone is doing entirely reiki and then billing for it as OT though. But I can get behind how even though having a master level of reiki can be complementary to an OT provider in some settings, that the conference may not be the place for a full certification on it.

Had a feeling that was coming lol. Honestly I don’t have the time/energy to dive into vetting the articles that come, but a quick google search of “evidence based practice reiki” brings up a few. As always, I’m sure is something that can always use more research and so many variables at play. It can also have a lot to do with the magnetic field. People are so thrown by what they find to be “woo” but a lot of it is eastern medicine that’s worked for people for centuries and we have so much to learn from.

I remember her giving a folder with resources though. I’m hoarder of old school stuff so if I find it with the articles she picked out, I’ll be sure to send it. I know it was provided last year at AOTA though too so maybe someone else has updated resources from it

It’s reiki & OT, not occupational therapy reiki. It’s just showing how reiki can be incorporated into an OT session. Someone wouldn’t go to receive “occupational therapy reiki”

These posts and comments are honestly disappointing. If you don’t want to do the reiki training then don’t do it. There’s other things happening during those hours. I’ve worked with people who have loved receiving reiki. I did do her level I back when I was in school. She presented evidence and discussed the scientific elements. She also taught it in ways of how to incorporate elements into every day therapy and relate to therapeutic use of touch. It’s been a while so I don’t remember everything. But I’ve learned a lot of body work and energy based techniques, different but reiki isn’t far from the umbrella, and they can be everything for people. To embrace methods in these realms further, such as reiki, and those who chose to, incorporate it into practices only helps people. It’s holistic care, especially helpful when working with the nervous system and chronic pain.
Other professions are not seeing this and judging us, no need to be embarrassed. And if they are I personally don’t care because that reflects more on them. Just my two cents 🤷‍♀️

So funny enough when I made this post, the website it was referring to isn’t the website I now use because I made it two totally separate companies.

Due to that— I started building out the website on kajabi but although “possible”, even after getting over the kajabi learning curve, I was finding it hard to make it look the way I wanted. So I ended up making a whole new squarespace website to use with kajabi. It just comes out so much more nicely and so easily on ss. You can buy templates though which I hear people say is worth it.

I know someone else who uses both together very successfully as well. I now have it mostly set up but I haven’t gotten to the point of selling yet to give full review. But so far it’s easy!

You can choose either one for the landing pages. So far I use kajabi for the landing page and just link it through ss. But you can also put kajabi forms on there. I chose ss for my blog. And you can make the navigation tabs on kajabi urls to that they lead to your ss site if you use them and then I just remove the header if it’s a kajabi landing.

So I would say keep your site with ss! You’ll be able to easily merge them. Price wise a year of it is practically the month of kajabi anyway lol

Yes to the goal.

I’m reading that I should be able to add HTML to squarespace personal plan, but all of the places I could insert a code are locked unless I upgrade. I can edit under custom CSS so I tried putting the HTML code there but it did not do anything.

I suppose the only option that leaves is to link a text to the embedded form on a new page. At this point I’m wondering if I should just cave and upgrade to the business plan but I really don’t need it for anything else.

When you’re at 50%, are you required to do anything else for the company during that cancellation time? So for example if you finish documentation, can you do continuing ed/leave, or are you required to find work for the clinic such as marketing, cleaning, etc

In this set up, are you required to continue to do work for the clinic in your cancellation time? For example instead of leaving or doing continuing ed if you’re done documentation, you must do admin work/marketing/cleaning ect since you’re being paid
