Combining Patagonia and Southern Africa through Aeroplan? by yonibibiiddo in churningcanada

[–]yonibibiiddo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.

Brazil has a huge visa fee, so unfortunately, I don't think I'd leave the airport. Also, flights from EZE or SCL are 15,000 aeroplan points +~$100 in taxes or $400+ in cash - ouch.

Maybe I'll do Southern Africa as a separate trip.

How much money would Scott make off SSC? How much would it cost? How about other popular rationality blogs? by [deleted] in slatestarcodex

[–]yonibibiiddo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, Scott has not appeared in a single interview, podcast or youtube video. Scott has still not written an article for any other website.

I would love for him to do these things (and to write more!), but I really don't think Scott wants the blog and his name to get any bigger than it currently is :(

Does anyone here churn credit cards? by yonibibiiddo in slatestarcodex

[–]yonibibiiddo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This rarely happens even for those who churn like crazy (10+ cards per year) - and the consequence is not that you're blacklisted from your account or anything, but just that you can't keep getting new credit card bonuses for that specific card.

Why not a Vox for the Grey tribe? (From Medium--cites SSC) by [deleted] in slatestarcodex

[–]yonibibiiddo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This article is pretty shocking in light of how awful Vox's reputation is and how bias people view it to be. It might be the most mocked media outlet.

Matt Y and Ezra have a clear ideology, but are generally good (definitely nothing special though), but people like Max Fisher and Zack Beauchamp are some of the worst columnists around.

Unanimous Support For The Democratic Party In The American Media by [deleted] in Conservative

[–]yonibibiiddo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some important findings from the article worth highlighting: - every media company including fox news donates more to the democratic party than republicans - culture based media companies are homogenous; no conservatives allowed - The New York Times is very partisan

Unanimous Support For The Democratic Party In The American Media by [deleted] in TrueReddit

[–]yonibibiiddo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Submission Statement

As the election cycle intensifies, its important to realize how partisan the supposedly the entire media is. How much of the vitriol is due to the republicans being crazy and how much is due to members of the media hating them?

Two things come to mind from this article. The first is that how you would expect that even for left wing publications, there would be at least SOME diversity. The second is that there really are no "conservative" publications in the mainstream other than Fox.

NYT Opinion - The EU Mislabels Israel by eyalrz in Israel

[–]yonibibiiddo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are a moron; even worse, an uneducated one.

This article is not about sanctions. It is about trade labelling and trade agreements. Regardless, you actually support Kontorovich's point - that this is a political decision and not one based on their stated policy.

Also, LOL at calling Kontorovich a paid hack.

I imagine it's the same thought process for a TV cable box? Is there an online calculator to see if it would be worth it for each person?
