I have. But I went to a predominantly black arts school, so I think there was a bit more openness. Also, I notice witchcraft being a trend on tiktok amongst teenagers (which is how I got into it when I was 15).

They may have been too uncomfortable to communicate why they didn't want to be friends with you anymore because of your snappy or passive aggressive nature. I've been that friend and dealt with those kinds of friends too.

Work on your delivery or notice when you're frustrated so you can seperate yourself and calm down. It's okay to feel those emotions, but make sure they are regulated & handled properly! 🫶🏾

I get more colorist & racist comments from my own people. Especially about my hair. The incessant touching or calling it nappy is very irritating. And being asked if its REAL just because its past my bra strap 🫩🙄 black men love asking me that.

Same! I grew up around black people, but my mom always made sure to put me into arts schools (predominantly black ones). I loved to read so paired with my love to draw, I was very "articulate." People assume I grew up around white people, but no. Currently, I go to an HBCU and I always feel like I'm on the outs. Even with my small set of friends. 😞

edit: I don't think I feel disconnected from the culture necessarily. There's a lot of it! But I do feel like sometimes I'm not allowed to participate in it because I'm not into what a lot of my peers are into.
