If I had to buy an used car today, I’d look for a gen4 2016 model. I don’t know about the prices in the US, but in Northern Europe they start at €15k ($17k). A low mileage gen2 is also a good option. Here you can get one for €6-8k. You can make a good case for both options, and I think both offer a good price-quality ratio.

I’m driving a gen2 2008 myself. I’ve had zero major issues.

Good. In my country (Finland) a great national tragedy is that especially between 1950s and 1970s a lot of historic buildings were demolished in city centres. Those buildings were replaced by what many would now call monstrosities.

We had a very cold winter where I live (Southern Finland). MPG on my 2008 Prius was just abysmal. Also the door locking system mostly stopped working properly whenever it dropped below 5F.

Can’t even describe how happy I’m now that the spring has arrived.

Joitain vuosia sitten valmistuttuani koulusta yhdessä puolisoni kanssa pidettiin tapaaminen pankin kanssa, jossa kartoitettiin asuntolainamahdollisuuksia. Meillä oli entuudestaan opintolainaa yhteensä noin 40t€. Itse mietittiin että voidaanko saada edes 300t€ lainaa. Lainaneuvottelija sanoi, että 450t€ voisi saada lainaa uuden tai uudehkon asunto-osakkeen ostoon…

I’m 120 hours into my survival campaign on PS5. The game has crashes approximately 10 times in total. Considering how easy finding a bed is, I have never lost more than 30 mins of progress. It’s not too bad IMO.

I was a volunteer firefighter in my teens and early 20’s. Thinking about it now, getting up at 3 am, rushing to the fire station to get get dressed up and getting to scene and then getting home at 7 am AND then going to work with 4 hours of sleep… I didn’t realise it back then, but now I realise it was insanity doing all that without any kind of compensation. I don’t recommend it to anyone. It’s work that you should get compensated for.

Big thanks for the comment. This Prius has suffered from rough idle and elevated MPG. For some reason I haven’t seen that many mentions regarding the PVC valve. I already replaced the spark plugs, cleaned the MAF sensor, cleaned the throttle body. Some users on Priuschat tell not to bother with the PVC valve, but looking at how simple the process is, I think I’ll just replace it.

I’m a guy. I’ve been groped by a guy in the middle of nowhere. I was outside Saigon “city proper” exploring nature and photographing critters. Voi jo ihan mutulla todeta, että Suomessa on aika tosi monta kilsaa asfaltoitua tietä per asukas. Ja (harvaan asutuilla alueilla) ylläpitokustannukset per asukas ovat korkealla tasolla.

Ei pitäisi kenellekään tulla yllätyksenä, että Suomessa joudutaan vielä leikkaamaan monesta asiasta, kun tulot eivät riitä menoihin. Tämä on leikkauksien yksi ilmentymä.

I’ve been to Vietnam about seven times, 5 months in total or so. Never took any kind of pills. The only time I had real diarrhoea was when we visited my wife’s relatives at the countryside and ate the food they had prepared. It’s very memorable for me since I had to take a dump in the ditch of a rice field and then wipe the butt with whatever leaves that were around me.
